Dick looked a touch more serious as he continued scribbling out the ticket. “Ok. I know you can handle yourself but just let me know if—“
“I don’t need your help.” Jason cut in with a touch of aggravation.
“Sure, don’t want big bro to swoop in and save the day.” Dick let out a dramatic sigh. He tore the finished ticket out from the rest, and tucked his notebook back into his shirt pocket. “Alright. I won’t keep you any longer—“
There was a thunderous gunshot that rang through the air, overlapping Dick’s words, and accompanied by the comparatively quieter sound of a punched out breath as Dick rocked backwards.
Jason had already twisted towards Dick to grab his ticket, so he got to watch every unbearable detail.
Such as the blood blossoming on the upper left chest of Dick’s navy blue uniform shirt.***
Jason is dealing with a handful of wannabe assassins. He has it all under control... until Dick Grayson gets caught in the crossfire.
