Summary
Sequel to Picking Up Strays. I highly recommend reading that one first.
Author has been granted his second chance at life, but he didn't want it in the first place. Still tormented by the eyes of The Audience, he must find a way to work through his own feelings of helplessness and decide if he's truly as helpless as he seems... or if there is a chance to change his life for the better.
He has his own negative feelings towards the mysterious Audience, and even worse feelings towards the powerful entity who controls his world. What is the true plot here? Who is the true hero, if there is one at all? Is the story happening on stage... or behind the scenes?

Summary
Virgil only wants to protect those he loves at all costs. What happens when he can't hide it anymore?
**I project my experiences of being trafficked onto Virgil, so what he experiences I experienced myself while I was being trafficked, just so you know where this fic is coming from.
What is up everybody?! A heads up, this fic is graphic and gets DARK but I fix it! Plz heed the tags and if there's something in there that could be triggering for you, plz take care of yourselves! I assure you that I have this whole thing outlined, so it won't get abandoned!
I try to keep my stuff accessible, including keeping chapters not much longer than 3500 words, so if you have ideas to make my fic more accessible plz lmk!
This fic is not used to represent D.I.D. If you want resources on D.I.D., lmk in the comments section or on Tumblr!
I now have an amazing beta by the name of Jasper01! They're so awesome!!!

Summary
Patton Sanderson makes friends with outcast Virgil Samuels, mostly elective mute and said to be Soulless. Patton, however, knows better - he's seen it. Virgil's Soulmate is just shy. Unlike his own, Roman, all dramatics and red ink and Disney references.
When Virgil's family almost beat him to death and abandon him outside of a hospital, Patton's parents take in the quiet boy their son has befriended and show him what a real family is like.
High school is a hell of bullies and anxiety attacks, except for the metal band Virgil, Talyn, Joan, and a few friends start. Skip ahead to college, the band taking off, and the upcoming 'date' of Patton meeting Roman, something else also happens that no one was expecting.
I mean, what are the odds, right?
