Steve isn't perfect, but he's pretty sure he doesn't deserve to be trapped in a house by an eerily advanced AI and its psychopathic creator as an involuntary test subject. The high tech prison seems impossible to escape, but maybe, just maybe he can teach this AI named Buchanan right from wrong. The trouble is, Steve's never met a computer that he wants to save in return.

Steve is disabled, and lives as a shut-in by choice. As long as he's in his perfectly handicapped-accessible house, he doesn't need any kind of help from anybody.
Bucky is a college kid with a past he doesn't like to remember, and he's the life of just about any party: Comes early and stays late. Going to class, though? There's really not time for that.
When Bucky realizes that the lushly landscaped, heated backyard pool abutting his college university's campus is never used, and seems to be attached to an empty house, he starts throwing parties there.
But … it's Steve's pool. And Steve catches them at it from the beginning.
He doesn't say anything. He doesn't mind. Watching their antics through a crack in the curtains is the most human contact Steve might ever be likely to have.

Steven Rogers was born in 18th century Ireland to a mother who knew herbs and the old ways. After she passes, Steve asks for aid and gets more than he bargained for. He’s cursed into the form of a beast by day and given 300 years to prove to the fae enchantress that such a thing as true love exists. If he can’t prove it, he’ll be whisked back to her realm and be forced to marry her. He can try to find love with whomever he wants, but they have to fall in love with him without seeing his human face for a year and a day. He spends hundreds of years searching, but so far, no one seems worth the risk.
Bucky Barnes is a grumpy war vet whose sister is dying. Desperate, he goes in search of a flower that can save her, but the cost is higher than he anticipated: His sister’s life in exchange for his. When he returns to keep his side of the bargain, nothing in the mansion is what it seems.

Only problem? It’s all complete fiction. He actually lives in a shitty Brooklyn apartment, is single as hell, and has visited Connecticut exactly one time at the age of eight.
When his agent Sam informs him that he's been offered an exclusive sponsorship deal with Stark Media and a three book contract to go with it, Bucky's forced to fess up to Sam, who's predictably...displeased. But Sam's also convinced the deal is too good to miss—even if they have to put on a little bit of a show in order to get it.
So Tony and Pepper descend on Bucky and Sam's fake home for Christmas with a devastatingly handsome War Hero in tow, and their already complicated plan quickly gets even more complicated as Bucky finds himself falling head over heels for Steve. Summary
Bucky doesn’t fall and Steve doesn’t crash. The Howling Commados take out the remaining Hydra bases…and then they go home, just like all the other allied soldiers. Throughout the war, they discuss what each of them would do if they make it back again. The only person Steve doesn’t ask is Bucky. He’s afraid of the answer.
Steve himself isn’t sure if he knows how to do anything but be a soldier and a weapon anymore, but remembering the promise he made he vows to try to be just a good man again.
He buys a farm in Washington state, and tries to relearn how to be at peace.
(Featuring: Steve as a bearded farmer, two rescued puppies, badass Peggy Carter speaking truth, the Howling Commandos doing the same, an apple orchard, soldier homecoming angst, and two dumb boys waiting way too long to talk it out–but don’t worry, they do.)
