Accepting an invitation to go ice skating is a pretty terrible idea when you've no idea how to skate. In most circumstances, anyway.

Then, SB's gaze turned steel, suddenly stripped of vacancy. A sense of void began to drain through to him; subtle at first, but as he continued to scan around the hall it grew, settling completely the moment he had confirmation.
Though, oddly, it hadn't seemed to be that stark to the rest of the attendees. Everyone else appeared to be ignorant to something he'd picked up on almost immediately.
Clown wasn't anywhere to be seen.
As it turns out, SB likes the idea of a prom date a little more than he thought he did.

A voice he'd already heard, only a few seconds ago. A voice he didn't want to believe he was correct in guessing, but now that it was less muffled than it had been then, there was no other direction for the arrows to point in.
It's through demons and deep gashes that Dan learns just how much Squid cares about him.

Clown's armor durability was rapidly decreasing. Desperation was starting to set in. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to indulge him a little bit.
“Please, SB. Please leave me alone,” He let a note of pleading into his voice, “Pretty please?” He pearled away before SB could get in a reply.
“Oh, but Clown, I don't think I want to,” SB appeared behind him a second later and Clown could practically hear his smile. He threw down a speed potion and kept sprinting.
“Are you trying to get me to beg for my life?” Clown asked, half-jokingly.
“Would you?”

SB attacks Clown and because of their deal, Clown can't fight back. He can only run.

Summary
After the dust has settled from what they call the 'enchanted crystal episode', life goes back to normal for Dan and Trayaurus. If you can call regularly breaking the limits of science normal, that is. With their new friend Finn settling into his new life of freedom and their nemesis Denton finally gone for good, you could even say their life is improving.
But strange feelings between the two of them start to come to light. Every experiment they conduct, every new discovery they make, every experience they share brings them closer, but neither of them know what to say.
When Dan starts to have a series of nightmares he can barely describe, they find it harder and harder to keep down the truth. Someone has to say it.
Finn has his own issues, especially the thoughts about what happened to his parents - why was he left in the forest, and how did they die? A return to Sunshine Wilds might be the only way he'll find out the truth.
