He knows that if he doesn’t get this out quickly, he will never be able to say it at all. “Because I know, that my parents must have been traitors to the village because of the way that everyone looks at me and why the old man won’t tell me anything about them and why he keeps such a close eye on me because he doesn’t want me to betray the village like I did. But you were always different. everyone else looks at me with hate, but you look at me with sadness so I know that they must have hurt you really bad and I know I must look just like them. And I’m sorry, for all of it.”
Naruto is still staring at the floor, obvious to the jonin around him reacting in absolute horror or Kakashi beginning to freeze in place.
