Summary

It’s all standard Sunday morning fare—Caroline and Stefan sniping at each other, Damon lazing around in various states of undress, Bonnie trying and failing to get everyone to shut the hell up and let her study—until they realize a massive snowstorm hit Boston the night before. And another one is on its way. And they can’t get out of the apartment. And suddenly a harmless, hungover morning after… becomes six mornings after. The reason I knew what the emperor had done to you was because it was exactly what I would’ve done myself if I got to you first.” He moved his hand, drawing his thumb along her cheekbone. His touch was so gentle it made her ache. “Though, I would’ve done some other things differently.”
“Such as?” Mikasa asked, doing her best to keep her voice steady.
“The second your brother was dead, I would have married you.”

She flips onto her stomach, ‘My parent’s will be out of town on Friday,’ she says swiftly, as if her words will be snatched away if she’s not quick enough. ‘I - I’ll try.’ She wants to promise she’ll come, but she can’t. The Chateau is far, too far to go on foot. Sarah’s face still breaks into a wide grin, ‘they’ll be so excited,’ she says, a knowing smile gracing her lips. So for the first time in so long, Kiara drifts off to sleep with a small smile.
She expects the usual, the water reaching like grabbing hands, trying to wrench JJ away from her. But it isn’t that for once. It’s something equally scary though, more oh fuck scary, and not I'm dying scary. She closes her eyes and feels JJ’s mouth against her own.
