Summary
The dream, this time, appears normal. A memory of him and Cayde in the Pale Heart, sat around the campfire, talking. Crow basks in it. He's listening to the crackle of the campfire and the sound of crickets when everything goes quiet - like how a forest goes silent when a predator approaches. A feeling of unease settles over him, that all too familiar sensation in his head returning.
Cayde speaks then, his voice foreign and far away, "𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘮. 𝘏𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨."
- With the Witness, and Cayde, gone, Crow settles in as the new Hunter Vanguard. But it's not long before he starts seeing and hearing things that make him wonder if any of it's truly over.

Summary
Eventually, Crow sighs and turns towards him, a conflicted expression on his face.
“Is… is there a reason you didn’t kill me?” His eyes squint slightly, like he’s in pain. Cayde can see the guilt behind them.
Unsure how to answer, Cayde brings his legs back down, rubbing a hand down his face. “Well, like I said, I thought about it. A lot.” He frowns, spinning Ace on his fingers. “But every time that crossed my mind, I’d see Glint and I’d remember who you really are. Uldren took my life, but you didn’t. I can’t make you pay for his mistakes.”
- After being attacked on the journey home following the defeat of the Witness, Cayde and Crow find themselves stranded on Europa.

Summary
"Speaking of Buck, you should stop dating Marisol."
Eddie lets out a strangled noise of surprise, choking on the swig of beer he'd just taken. "What— I'm sorry, what does that have to do with Buck?"
Christopher sends him the look, the one where he has his eyebrows raised and lips pulled into a tight line, like he's exasperated, while also not believing a word his dad is saying. "He's single now, and we both know you'd be happier dating each other."
"Jesus Christ."
— or, When Christopher finds out that Buck broke up with his girlfriend, he pounces on the opportunity to knock some sense into his dad. Eddie makes some poor (or good, technically) decisions.

Summary
“Okay, that is a beautiful man.” Chimney says, pointing behind Buck towards the locker room.
Hen’s eyes are fixed in the same direction. “Where’s the lie? And I like girls.”
Buck furrows his brows, feeling just a little bit jealous at some other guy getting attention, and turns to see what all the fuss is about. He’s about to roll his eyes and say “no way, I’m way hotter” before he realises the man that he’s staring at isn’t just some guy.
That’s Eddie Diaz. The same Eddie Diaz that was Buck’s partner for two tours through Afghanistan, the same Eddie that Buck lived with for three years, the same Eddie who Buck was raising a kid with.
The same Eddie Diaz that Buck has missed so fucking much.
— Buck meets Eddie in the Army, falls in love, loses him, gains him and falls in love all over again.

Summary
Buck looks so obviously like he just had amazing morning sex with the love of his life, and the sight makes him grin so hard he might just look a little insane. Neither he nor Eddie have ever had an issue with answering the door while in this state, because everyone that might show up at their home unprompted knows about them. So he shrugs, prepares for the usual hazing that comes with being seen like this, and presses his key into the door with practised ease.
And he almost slams the door in their faces. He has to physically place his leg in between the door and the doorframe to prevent that happening. “Mr and Mrs Diaz!” He exclaims, shocked and frankly terrified, hoping that his voice is loud enough for Eddie to hear him from the bedroom.
—
Buck and Eddie's relationship is steady and healthy, but then Eddie's parents show up at their door and Buck has to defend his place in Eddie's life.

Summary
Bakugou can't help but frown at the worn expression on his classmate's face when he speaks, tears pricking at the corners of his eyes.
"Have you ever realised you like someone... but they don't feel the same?" Kaminari says, voice so hoarse it's almost a whisper. His hair falls over his eyes but it doesn't do a good job hiding the droplets of a broken heart dripping onto the floor beneath him. "Hah," he laughs weakly, "who am I kidding? There's no way—"
"I have, actually."
— Or, Bakugou begrudgingly comforts a heartbroken classmate and realises too late that he might be getting too attached.

Summary
Bakugou Katsuki was never really one for feelings. Even after both wars and almost dying many times, he would avoid thinking about his emotions if he could. Sure, therapy was helping a bit with that but talking to a stranger about your deepest traumas only goes so far.
But suddenly feelings are all he can think about when a little girl (who looks eerily similar to himself) comes crashing into his life and forces him to confront one of the scariest feelings - Love.
