It had to have happened recently. Sometime in the last month, after they had finally destroyed the Upside Down and everything it inhabited. It’s almost laughable – actually it’s fucking comedic – that only after the threat of the entire world being obliterated into a spec of dust is over that Mike starts to feel like he’s drowning.
Because that’s what this is: he’s drowning. He’s screaming, he’s kicking and grabbing at the water surrounding him, trying to breach the surface, but it’s no use.
He feels like he’s drowning, but he doesn’t know why.
Well, maybe he does.
