Summary
He saw someone, or at least it had to be someone, a skull looming in over him suddenly. A painted skull on a fabric covering a face, and god those intense eyes that were staring down at him.
This had to be heaven, the skull made him question it a little since there had been no accounts for that in all the after-death experiences he’d heard, but only heaven would award him with those brown intense eyes staring into his own boring grey ones.
“m’ nam’s John,” he slurred up at the eyes trying to put on his flirty tone that usually worked, his arm making a futile attempt to move so they could shake hands. The man shook his head and his eyes moved away from Soaps.
Soap suddenly was very aware of the jostling, and the deep rumble from what could only be a car, and last time he checked, heaven didn't have cars and men clad in skull masks. He could also faintly remember a priest telling him that there is no pain in heaven. There hadn't been pearly gates, nor had it been a stairway he needed to walk up.
OR
set in the last of us universe, Soap gets injured while he and Gaz are on the run. Stumbling over what could only be their saving grace saving their asses. A life and love story told through seasons.

Ghost came to Pandora to die amongst unseen stars. He didn't care for his Avatar body - the body Tommy was meant to pilot before he died - he just wanted rest.
Unfortunately, after his transport crashes on the surface of Pandora leaving him stranded, he's forced into wars he swore off when he left active combat. The Na'vi are brutal, but they are not unkind as they pick up the broken pieces of him and remind Ghost...His heart is warm so long as it is beating.
