His hair was a sweaty mess, the bare skin on his chest flushed fever pink. Even his nylon shorts were plastered to his thighs like a second layer of skin. Eddie dropped his inhaler on the bed and knelt down to cup Richie’s face, his eyes zeroing in on the swollen glands on his neck.

Collie Parker was stupidly annoying, and Gary despised him with a passion. The man was popular, despite the fact that he never had spoken more than maybe a sentence in the time Barkovitch had paid attention to him. Parker seemed to be good at anything he did too. He was also stupidly gorgeous, and Gary was quite certain it was impossible to be this beautiful. Did that guy ever even have to brush his hair or iron his clothes? He was a college student, for fuck’s sake. When did he even have the time? The blonde looked every day like he’d crawled out of some hole or like he’d forgotten that shampoo is something you can buy, while Parker looked like he used the world’s finest conditioner.
He was jealous to hell and back. How did it come that Parker didn’t have to struggle? Why was he so nonchalant and capable while Gary hadn’t even managed to get one person in the past few months to call him their ‘friend’? Parker wasn’t even pleasant! He could see right through him; He knew that Collie was as awful and cruel as him, he just managed to hide it better, or maybe the boys liked how he displayed his cruelty better than they liked how Barkovitch displayed his.
Ugh. It pissed him off so badly.
