So, even though Dick was now arguably more of a member of the Zombie Club than Jason, the rest of the bats didn’t know.
A part of Dick had always known that it would come out. He’d sort of hoped it would be in better circumstances than this.
The sound of shattering glass was deafening, and for one impossible moment, Dick could smell chalk dust and popcorn. The excitement of the crowd in his ears as it played along with a vibrant tune that matched the colours of the tent. The glass caught the moonlight like jewels. Drifting in the air, motes of starlight trailing down around him. Wide eyes behind a mask. Fingers reaching out too late.

Summary
“Talon could not wait for more orders (the area was to be empty for a while) or for storage (they didn’t have its storage container, and if they did it would be unusable at the moment), so there was only one thing left it could do: Find and take care of the Owlet.“
After a raid of the Court of Owls property, The Bats and Birds find themselves with a new tool: A Talon. However they don’t seem to be interested in giving it orders, so what is an impatient Talon supposed to do other than make a nest and preen the only Owlet in the manor?
Aka an excuse to write an affectionate Dick Grayson mother-henning (err…Taloning) Damian and others. Also now with a lifetimes worth of expositions for no particular reason!

Summary
Talons are made to last. They aren’t alive, after all, which significantly reduces the chance of death by illness or injury and completely nullifies any age-related death. Even cold, a Talon’s greatest weakness, only causes them to hibernate. They may look and feel dead, but they’re plenty capable of reanimating once they thaw out. Truthfully, a Talon goes out one of two ways:
1. Complete and total destruction of the Talon’s body in the heat of battle
Or
2. Being neutralized by the Court when they determine the Talon is no longer worthy of the title
That’s how a Talon is supposed to die.
But that's not how this Talon dies. This Talon dies to become something else. Something more.
And for conspiring against nature, this Talon pays the price.

In the midst of fights, the racist white Gotham High Society, and Tim, who fled the nest in a last attempt to resurrect something that no longer exists, it is hard to find hope, and yet all of them somehow manage to do so anyways.
