Summary
"Would you still love me if I was a worm?"
Killua sat bolt upright and fumbled his grip on the game, suddenly wide awake. How could Gon say something like that with a straight face? How could he use that word so casually? He cursed inwardly as his character fell to his death and tossed the console onto the pillows.
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
Gon just blinked at him, entirely unbothered. "You don't gotta be so rude about it. I said, would you still love me if I was a worm?

Summary
Without waiting for a response, Gon closed his eyes and lay his head on Killua's shoulder with a smile, nuzzling his cheek against the time-softened cotton of Killua's t-shirt. "'Night."
Gon was warm even through Killua's layers, and he couldn't deny that the weight of his head was comforting. The shorter boy fit perfectly in the crook of Killua's neck. His spiky hair tickled Killua's skin as he snuggled in further and wrapped his arms around the backpack on his lap.
Killua considered fighting this for only a split second before resigning himself to his fate. He put his elbow on the windowsill and rested his chin in his palm, watching the landscape go by in a blur. He drummed the fingers of his other hand on his thigh. He could feel Kurapika's curious eyes on him, and he tried his best not to blush, to act as if he were totally chill with Gon using him as a pillow. Because he was. He was totally chill. Why wouldn't he be?

Summary
"I heard you were the one who brought him back,” Leorio said.
Killua swallowed. “Yeah.” His voice sounded far away, foreign to his own ears. He looked down at his hands to find them trembling. He put his head in his palms, gripping his hair so tightly he was in danger of ripping out clumps.
He screwed his eyes shut at the images of a dark, scorched forest that flashed through his mind. No, no, no. He didn't want to think about it. He didn't want to think about the way Gon had looked at him, at how the last words he had said were to reassure Killua that it didn't hurt, that everything was okay, even though that was a bald-faced fucking lie.
Best friends weren't supposed to lie to each other. Killua didn't care if that made him a hypocrite.

Summary
It has to be Killua.
A warmth blossomed in Killua's chest, slow and viscous and honey-like, at the memory of those words from Gon's mouth. He'd replayed that soundbite in his head at least a thousand times by now, and it still hadn't lost its potency.
Did Gon know how much power his words had over him?

Summary
"That won't ever happen, Killua. You're my best friend."
Killua hunched his shoulders to hide the blush crawling up his ears. He wanted to hear those words all day, every day. No matter how many times Gon said them, it wouldn't be enough. He was so greedy that he disgusted himself.

Summary
Killua’s brain had been reduced to a broken film projector, incapable of anything other than a familiar string of bright and familiar images. Somehow hard hitting and painful, but in a way that was almost assuaging. No, that wasn’t the right word. The right word was buried somewhere deep inside. The right word was forbidden. He wouldn’t allow himself the right word. It wasn’t even about the hopeless jumble of words in his own head. This was about Gon’s words, and the tremendous weight they carried. {Set after episode 70, right after the dodgeball game, yes Gon bandages Killua's hands}.

Summary
"What could Killua possibly have done to earn this, to be taken care of with such kindness and affection? He’s never had this before, not in all his life. No one’s ever brought him water and a cool towel. No one’s ever stroked his hair when he was ill or in pain. No one’s ever sat beside him and spoken to him softly and watched over him so he wasn’t alone. Whatever Killua’s done to deserve this, he’ll make sure he does it again. As many times as he can, whatever the cost. He’ll earn this again."
Killua becomes delirious with a high fever, but he isn't subjected to the usual pain and cruelty at the hands of his family. Instead, someone else is here, someone who is very kind and very gentle and very unlike anyone Killua has ever met.
