Summary
“I heard you got married.” San Lang says, all teasing gone, his voice even. “My congratulations.”
Xie Lian wishes his wedding was less public, but Jun Wu wanted to “do everything right”. If he knew back then how many times he’ll have to fake a smile and accept congratulations he would stand his ground.
San Lang’s congratulations sound more like condolences, for some reason. Xie Lian doesn’t ask, but doesn't bother to smile either.
“Thank you.” He says.

Summary
“Listen,” Xie Lian starts again. “I appreciate your concern, San Lang, it’s really touching, but I think it will be better for both of us if you lose interest in the matter.”
“Then, may I try to steal gege away?” Hua Cheng asks. “You know, since you made it so clear before you weren't dating.”
Xie Lian opens and closes his mouth, baffled. What an unexpected turn of events.
He should refuse, it would only add up to the troubles he already has. But oh well, what’s one more? The answer rolls off his mouth before he can understand the weight of the repercussions it will bring against him.
“You may."
Caught in an abusive relationship with Jun Wu, Xie Lian cheats on him with Hua Cheng.

Summary
“Mind telling me what this is?” Hua Cheng asked.
Curious, Xie Lian brought a hand to it, and he traced the delicate filigree that ran along the edges of the box. Hua Cheng seemed to think that he knew what it was, but he really couldn’t recall. It wasn’t until his hand laid flat on the lid of the coffer that something suddenly clicked, and it brought a mortifying memory to the surface.
All the blood quickly drained from his face, and he clutched the lid tightly enough to whiten his knuckles, too.
“You already know what this is… don’t you?” he asked meekly.
“I do,” Hua Cheng confirmed. “But I’m curious to know where you found such a thing. Won’t you tell me?”
…
Nestled within the box was that dreadful child-bearing pill that was almost gifted to Hua Cheng a while back.
Xie Lian suffers the consequences (or rather, reaps the rewards) of hanging on to one of Hua Cheng's birthday gifts.

Xie Lian stared down at his own hands, fidgeting with his fingers unable to look up at his untouched cup of coffee. “C-can you repeat the question again please?” he nervously whispered as he looked up at the beautiful man in front of him.
“Has your partner ever made you ejaculate before?”
His new handsome and professional sex coach asked patiently, with a courteous smile hanging from his lips.
“No.” Xie Lian said flatly, “No he hasn’t.” With his frustrated response, his coach Hua Cheng nodded in the calmest way possible, taking unreadable notes into his expensive black notebook, humming in silence getting ready for his next question.Or

Summary
In the center of it all is a man…
A man who is scrambling around a small convection oven on the counter, trying to scrape out the blackened remains of what Hua Cheng assumes were once cookies. He appears to be in his early thirties and, despite his frantic movements and creased expression, the first word that comes to Hua Cheng’s mind is: soft.
His hair, a beautiful, earthy chestnut brown color, is pulled back into a loose bun on the top of his head. A few strands hang free, framing his face. He wears cuffed jeans and a cream-colored turtle-neck sweater that swamps his frame and falls down to his thighs, giving him a cozy, shapeless figure.
or: Hua Cheng is a famous muralist who is losing his passion for art when he meets Xie Lian, single father to five-year old Guzi. Xie Lian is in the midst of opening a flower shop and Hua Cheng, instantly captivated by this man with warm eyes and a soft nature, offers to help.

Two gods painfully stared at the sight.
Broken chairs, dirty clothes, and baby food splattered across the floor followed by giggling sounds coming from a child running around of what used to be the most exquisite room of Paradise Manor while being chased by both parents.
"So... you're telling me that this child will unite the three realms and become the future ruler of a forgotten kingdom?"
"That's what goushi said."
Mu Qing and Feng Xin both winced as they watched Xie Lian and Hua Cheng struggle chasing a four-year old child before giving each other a glance and sighing.
"... Let's only hope the child lives up to his name then."
Xie Lian finally decides to take the Child-bearing pill, he laughs and cries at the joy and struggles along with it.

Summary
Modern day Xie Lian finds himself wandering into the less than decent Paradise Café with a "free drink of choice" coupon in his hand and Shi Qingxuan at his side. The coffee is decent, the new space slowly filling out with decadent furniture, and he finds it to be a fantastic spot to write (and get away from his two bickering roommates).
But something about the silver butterfly chime above the door seems familiar. The baristas also look ghostly pale and don't seem to take well to their customers. Then there's the mysterious new barista (NOT a crush) that Feng Xin and Mu Qing seem to know far more about than Xie Lian. But now, at the seventh time he's tried to write the same scene in his story of a little boy falling during a ceremonial parade, a few things start to click. Something about this scene is far too realistic for his imagination... right?
Who is, or was, Xie Lian anyway?
