Summary
They believed this was the final battle, Vecna was gone, and with him, the certainty that they could win again. No, they had to do it. With his sister and Kali at his side, defeating this new monster felt possible like the end was finally within reach, and with that some rest.
But endings are never that simple.
As the fight unfolds, buried memories start to resurface, emotions spiral out of control thanks for the manipulation of them, and the line between win and loss begins to blur. Caught between a rock and a hard place, the only choice left is to keep fighting and face what that choice might cost.
Because some battles aren’t won without leaving something behind.
Or: They know how to fight against monsters, since before middle school, back when they were still just kids, but what comes after they survive is something they are not prepared for. The scars that are left behind are the hardest to carry than the battle itself and somewhere between the tangled aftermath, something shift.

Summary
All is swell after the “earthquake” hit Hawkins. The kids are back at school, the military haunts the streets, the Byers live with the Wheelers, the team just recently started up with the crawls, and Will and Mike have been getting closer. But all that changes when a car pulls up in front of Hawkins High.
Suddenly, Will is whisked away for legal reasons, and those back in Hawkins have to work tirelessly to get him back. Meanwhile, Will’s life gets turned upside down, and he is thrusted into the custody of his first ever bully: Lonnie Byers.
Follow the group as they struggle with complex feelings, mental and legal battles, and the story of Will’s heartbreaking past being rewritten in present day (or for us, the 1980’s).Takes place somewhere in the 18 month time gap before season 5, maybe closer to season 4.

“You saved me, Will” he whispered. Will looked up at him, their eyes meeting. His eyes…Mike figured he could drown in those eyes and still never get enough of them.
Will was so close to him. Their faces were only inches from each other, if he leaned forward any closer they would touch. And oh how he wanted to. It wouldn’t be hard. To bring Will’s lips to his. It would be so easy.
Mike was so lost in this idea, that he didn’t notice the vines creeping towards them. He didn’t notice it snaking around Will’s ankle. He didn’t see the way it moved up to his back, settling just near the center of the boy’s stomach.

When Will Byers is killed just moments after unlocking his powers, Mike's world is destroyed.
But when he finds out there's a chance Will might still be alive, he knows he has to do something about it.
He knows he has to save the only person he's ever truly loved

Summary
The truck jostles slightly, a constant back and forth as its inhabitants prepare themselves for a venture into the Upside Down, one last time. One last fight to end it all. One last time risking their lives for the fate of the world. If every time before this hadn’t been their “final fight,” maybe they wouldn’t have felt as grim as they plunged further into hell.
Vecna’s voice was like nails on a chalkboard. Unheard by all but one, the monster’s face was twisted into something that someone might have called a smile when he was still human. Now, though, it was more like watching a rabid dog bear its teeth. He ran a hand over Will Byers’s hair as he spoke.
“Do you think you’re worthy of him?” Vecna’s long, clawed fingers slid gently over Will’s face, but Will wasn’t frightened. He continued speaking idly with his mother, a small smile on his face. “Doesn’t he deserve better?” On the other side of the truck a pair of brown eyes had slid out of focus, body rigid, unwilling to move despite its owner’s protests. Terror seized them as they watched Vecna taunt them, gnarled hands placed gently onto Will’s shoulders.
