Summary
There was laughter, smiling and trust that was so desperately missing from the last decade. People from all walks gathered together with no judgement and Raya could only smile from the sidelines. Never in her wildest dreams had this seemed possible a month ago…
A quiet sigh escapes her lips, eyes shutting to soak in the atmosphere but the peace was destined not to last as a huff of laughter broke her small corner of silence.
“I thought you didn’t do fancy, formal attire.” The very familiar and very alluring voice carried.
Raya’s eyes opened and were met with the full force of Namaari in a similar state of dress; silvers and whites accenting her dark eyes and darker hair. There was always something in seeing the fierce warrior in such soft outfits, a collar covering her shoulders and gloves pulled from wrist to bicep--
A shame really…

Summary
A year has passed—a year since the Druun have re-invaded the lands and discord has had an abundance of time to fruitfully fester—and she has not seen an inkling of the Heart Princess. Nothing more comes out of Heart, let alone a little girl with too much blind trust and kindness. She was likely swallowed by the Druun the very night the Dragon Gem broke.
Namaari is just fourteen, and the emotion gnawing at her insides, biting and ripping at tissues and muscles for an escape, stays ignored. The more time she allows herself to ruminate on the whereabouts of the Princess—on whether she is even alive—the more fiercely her insides are consumed. To picture her still, hard, a stone statue entirely unmoving, sets her tongue on the cusp of the very thing she feels: guilt.
Raya and Namaari encounter each other throughout the six years that pass between the betrayal in the Dragon Gem Chamber and when Raya finds Sisu.

Summary
Most people don't see anything past the sharp edges and the cold demeaner of the Fang warrior. All they see is the traitor that sent them into six years of darkness with the Druun. Boun isn't the first to move past his biased hate towards Namaair, but he is the first to see that she's not as unharmed and put together after the pain as everyone thinks.
Or, Boun notices how Namaari eats differently than the rest and wants to find out why the second person he's grown attached to like an older sister refuses to eat until everyone else has their fill.
A look into how messed up the childhood of the royal Fang princess really was before her people became desperate enough to face war by stealing the Dragon Gem.
Bonus: Boun really thinks Raya is a disaster around Namaari

The former soldier started to pace the length of her bedroom and kept coming to the same conclusion...she needed outside help. She strode to her front door and pulled it open, sticking her head out to see if anyone was in the hallway.
She had lived in her apartment for a few years but hadn’t really taken the time to meet any of her neighbors. Her mother hadn’t been the neighborly type and that trait had been passed down to her as well. She usually scowled at anyone passing her on the stairs or in the halls but she knows, somewhere on this floor, there is a very pretty woman who always smiles and waves to her every time they pass each other in the hall. In fact, over time, the woman had basically trained Namaari to politely nod to her on sight everyday.
Namaari’s feet seemed to move of their own accord and she stopped in front of the door she felt 97.35% sure was the other woman’s and knocked.

Summary
All of it came back to her, every time. To Namaari. Even if she hated admitting it to herself at times, there had always been a strange, intense, and invisible force that seemed to bind her and Namaari together, since the very beginning.
Set in a Post Canon world in which Raya and Namaari no longer need to be enemies. Now they can be allies. Friends, even. If they'd just suck it up already and learn how to communicate with one another.

So Raya's been told, by everyone from her Ba to Sisu to the Heart courtiers that once formed her mother's retinue. She feels heat crawling across her cheeks, but she'll be damned if she looks away first. "You don't seem to have a problem with it, or you would have told me to stop by now."
On one of her many sleepless nights, Raya escapes to the roof of Heart Palace for some space. She finds Namaari, and something else.
