Minho feels something hitting his legs. It’s a paper plane. Minho frowns and picks it up before he carefully lifts Soonie off his lap. He looks around
The only thing he sees is a figure with dark brown hair disappearing behind a tree. Minho squints and snickers at the sight. “Jisung-ssi? Is that you?” he calls out. No answer.It has to have been Jisung, though, right? Or is it some prankster? Jisung is the only person who knows that he’s here, in his aunt and uncle’s house, to take care of the house while they’re gone.
He is also the only person Minho has been friendly with, so far. He met him when he was buying vegetables at the town market. Jisung was behind the vegetable stand, round cheeks and big brown eyes immediately capturing Minho’s attention.OR: Minho keeps getting paper planes with sweet messages. He knows that it's the cute man at the vegetable stand sending them, but he keeps evading Minho's (and his cats') attempts at catching him in the act.

Summary

The guy clears his throat. Blinks. Looks back into Minho’s eyes and settles back into the easy, cocky grin he’s been wearing since he sidled up. “All I need is once to blow your mind,” he drawls, perfectly sleazy.

“Okay, Jisung. I’ll help you out, because the sooner you realize the better,” Minho frowns, pouring water over his newly mixed teabag. Steam wafts up in a blooming cloud, interrupting his clear view of Jisung.
“Excuse me?”
“They’re trying to set us up,” Minho tips his chin in the direction of the matchmakers, all of them tittering and avoiding their eyes to huddle together when Jisung turns around. “They think they have some sort of gift. They’ve been on my ass for years. You’re new, and they lured you in, and now they’re sending you over here to get lemon balm tea because it’s supposed to make you lucky in love. It’s as good as cupid’s arrow around here.”
“Oh,” Jisung’s throat bobs when he swallows. His cheeks grow even pinker. “I’m not looking for a relationship.”
Minho snorts, rolling his eyes before he can think better of it. “That makes two of us.” He sets the freshly brewed cup on top of a saucer, slides it on the top of the bar and into Jisung’s hands.

Summary
Jisung leans his head back, lazy. Like he can’t be bothered to pick it up. Like it’s too heavy, or he’s too sleepy. “Do you think it would fuck everything up if we slept together for real?”
“Everything,” Minho says, not quite a question, but not understanding. A general repetition for the benefit of the both of them. Because his throat hurts a little bit, and he needs a second to swallow it down.
He brings his hand back to steering. Both of them right where they’re meant to be.
“Everything, like— us,” Jisung waves his finger between them. “You’re my best friend. And I’m yours. And I’ve always wondered, you know?”
Minho is white knuckling the wheel. He can still feel Jisung beneath his fingertips, or maybe just within his bloodstream. Injected there to sit. Stay.

Summary
“I would like to learn to become human,” he announces to Jeongin, the man sitting across from him at something he’s been told is a chess board. Jeongin is trying to teach him the rules, but Hyunjin hasn’t been paying very close attention, too lost in his own head. Jeongin never seems to mind, he’s endlessly patient, the silly thing, that’s why he’s perfect for this specific request. Not that Hyunjin is likely to ask anyone else anyways, he only has two friends (three if he counts Felix).
Jeongin looks up from the game pieces, his eyebrows raised and his mouth dropped open in a circle. “Huh?”
Hyunjin scrunches his nose. So cute, his silly boy is. “I’ve been thinking about all the human things I want to do, now that I’m down here for good. I want to try everything that I couldn’t do before!”

Summary
“Please, Jeongin. Just drive,” Hyunjin begs. Pleads. His jaw aches from how hard his teeth are clenched. From the corner of his eye he watches Jeongin’s hand start the ignition, shaking as he shifts the car into gear.
“Put your seatbelt on,” Jeongin murmurs. He clears his throat when it takes a second for Hyunjin to react. Then, louder, “I’ll go when you put on your seatbelt.”
Hyunjin scrambles to do as he’s told, fixing his gaze forward again as soon as humanly possible. His white linen jumpsuit feels heavy against his legs, the halter tied behind his neck pulling uncomfortably. The engine revs, and Jeongin peels out of the lot.
The first tears fall when they round the corner, leaving the church in the rear view.

Minho fashioned himself to whatever company he kept. Warm and tender with Felix. Competitive with Changbin. Telepathic with Jisung.
Who was he with Seungmin? Barely cruel. Teasing. Minho used to hold a magnifying glass to the things Seungmin hid so well.
Maybe that’s why Minho didn’t try to reach out after that morning. He’d figured out that Seungmin was a coward a long time ago.
