Draco returns for his eighth year at Hogwarts in an attempt to salvage whatever he can of his future. His plan: sit as many N.E.W.T.s as possible, distance himself from the Malfoy name, and keep out of trouble. Of course, with his father on trial and at risk of unthinkable punishment, not to mention the anxiety-fueled "episodes" that have been plaguing him since summer, the school year doesn't go so smoothly. There’s a cheer and everyone’s speaking over each other, trying to gain Phil’s attention even though it’s focused solely in Dan. Blue eyes staring right at him through the computer screen and it’s amazing, how it makes him feel. He blows a kiss to the camera and Phil turns scarlet, a red so bright Dan can see it through his shitty screen.
He brushes a strand of hair out of his face, smiles. Phil mirrors his actions and it’s like the whole world doesn’t matter. Like there’s no one else but them and Dan wants to keep this forever, wants to feel giddy and good and wants to know the people he interacts with on a regular basis love Phil as much as he does because Phil’s his everything and deserves to be loved.

Frank shakes his head frantically, “I’m not crazy, don’t look at me like that!” And even if he was, he feels pretty fucking strongly that he is allowed to rave like a mad man after that. “I’m not fucking crazy, you saw it!”
Gerard sighs quietly, reaching out to touch Frank's cheek. “I know you’re scared-” he sounds so reasonable that it makes rage seer through the smaller man’s veins.
On most occasions, Frank loves hearing those gentle tones from Gerard’s mouth. This is not one of those moments. Gerard is trying to calm Frank down, and Frank will not be fucking calmed down.

There’s a brief moment of silence, of recognition, of oh shit oh fuck, before Frank says, “Gerard, hey. Long time, no see.”
A little voice in Gerard’s head starts screaming, telling him things like say something and remember how to talk and god he looks so fucking good and shut up and reply to him, but what ends up tripping its way out of Gerard’s mouth is, “Oh, um. Frank, I – toothpaste.”
For half a second, Frank looks like he’s about to laugh, but whether he actually was going to, Gerard doesn’t find out. Before Frank can say anything else at all, Gerard says, “Shit,” and leaves.
He’s halfway home before he realizes that not only is he the biggest idiot to ever walk the earth, but he also didn’t even get his fucking toothpaste.

Your typical boy-meets-vampire story, if there ever was one. Featuring sketchy new coworkers, haunted house actors that definitely don’t have anemia, a ride-or-die best friend who gets caught in the middle of it all, and the impending full moon (which doesn’t just affect werewolves, apparently).
It’s safe to say that the weeks leading up to Frank’s 25th birthday are some of the weirdest — and best — of his life.
