Summary
“We don’t see new people on the server often! Well, at all, actually, and I don’t think you’re supposed to be able to get in in the first place, but you don’t seem dangerous, so I’m sure Xisuma won’t mind.” She pauses for a moment, eyes narrowed in an intensity so sudden it gives Techno whiplash, and asks, “You’re not dangerous, right? Because we’d have to do something about you if you were.”
For a moment, Techno’s hackles raise and he leans towards his usual gravitas. “I could be, if I wanted to,” he starts, sitting up straighter. He may not have a sword, potions, or armor, nor does he have the benefit of time to prepare, or… He slumps when he realizes he has no advantages here, no plan of escape and in fact no one to back him up in a fight. He doesn’t even know if this server has respawn. A little awkwardly, he continues, “...but no, I’m not dangerous.” Just to save face he adds, “Would be kind of stupid to wait until you’re all in a group to fight you.”

Summary
Of course, there will be water in the Nether before something is easy for Technoblade. Shifting the weight of the box again makes his entire arm numb and he swears, watching the box tips and then slide out of his hold completely. Tommy has just enough time to turn towards him and open his mouth in the start of a question before all of the potions shatter in a beautiful, horrible crash. It takes a moment for the particle effects to settle over the pile of glass and multicolored puddles. Techno spends an extra minute staring blankly at the way the colors mingle and mix. He doesn’t want to see Tommy’s face when he yells, “Phil!”

Summary
Techno is going to die. He’s going to die with the crowd’s cheering in his ears and a Piglin’s sneer in his face and it’s not fair. There’s nothing valiant about dying hungry and exhausted. There’s no honor in being murdered curled up in a corner for the crime of being too good of an opponent.
This Piglin seems especially happy to indulge in his kill. He might even understand that the crowd is cheering for him, hefting his axe as he stands over Techno’s curled form. His shadow blocks out the sun such that he’s nothing more than a bulky silhouette, a dark form that will deny Techno the ability to even look his killer in the eyes when he dies.
There’s a brief moment of hesitation, when the Piglin’s axe is at its highest point. Its head tilts up, looking almost curious, and then-
Or: Technoblade is kidnapped and forced to fight in a ring that is committed to making him lose (and beating him up on the way). Just when he thinks he's finally lost, Phil swoops in to repay an old debt.

It was pretty much dumb luck that she was channel surfing when she heard “-new leader of Japan calls for the eradication of demi-human welfare systems starting as soon as this week, to the shock and horror of demi-humans who rely on these systems.”

Hikari-in-the-mirror looked hungry. Her eyes were dark, and her face looked gaunt. Something about her expression was off. She smiled, and it had too many teeth. She tried again. This one didn’t reach her eyes and was closer to a grimace.

Cold blood from a bag couldn’t compare to the ecstasy of this, warm and fresh, flowing into her mouth almost without effort. Her hunger was finally being sated, she finally felt strong, why had she gone so long without doing this? Her prey shifted and she gripped it harder, keeping it from fleeing as she gulped more blood down. It moved harder, and she growled a warning.

A Totem of Undying, or just “totem” for short, is a piece of Vex magic that allows a user to briefly escape death. It is not a boon of immortality- rather, it is like the user is taking a very calculated step to the side and letting the bull of death race past them, red flag flapping valiantly in the wind. A totem promises that you will not die. It does not promise that it won’t hurt.

“I don’t dream,” Wolfwood said, lifting one shoulder in a shrug.
Meryl drummed her fingers against the steering wheel, her sharp eyes meeting Vash’s through the glass of the rearview mirror.
Wolfwood rarely talked in his sleep, but sometimes his lips moved, forming the shape of words like stop and don’t and please. His long lashes would flutter over the high arch of his cheekbones as he shivered and twitched, knees pulled up towards his chest like he was trying to make himself small. Vash had reached for him, once, fingertips barely skimming across the line of Wolfwood’s arm before he bolted upright, the whites of his eyes flashing wildly in the dark.
Vash and Meryl try to bring Wolfwood in from the cold. Told in seven parts.

Vash can’t help but crumble once more and warble out a teary, “Nico,” canines biting down on his flesh hand to stop it from reaching out.
Nick’s breath catches in his throat.
He isn’t understanding what happened and can’t even begin to draw any conclusions, yet Nick doesn’t expect any answers from Vash while he’s clearly not coherent either. Vash’s form makes him look undeniably—purposely?—smaller despite his stature, so much like the other children he helped raise in Hopeland, when they couldn’t quite deal with all the huge bounts of pain churning in their fragile bodies and would shrivel up like they were back in the safety of a womb.

Summary
“You know how cats purr?” Vash says finally. “Like when they’re happy or stre—”
“You’re purring because you got stabbed? Christ, Blondie, I knew you were a masochist but—”
“Not like that! Let me finish!”
Or, cats purr when they feel happy and safe or are in pain and need to self-soothe. Vash does the same. But Vash doesn’t have many moments where he feels happy and safe, so Wolfwood and Meryl only ever hear him purr when he’s injured or hurting. The first time they hear him purr from happiness, they panic.

Summary
Living with a couple has its challenges, especially when you’re in love with both of them.
Meryl and Wolfwood make a wonderful couple and Vash is very happy for them. Sure, he’s got feelings for them, but he’s content with the way things are. He’s just grateful to have a roof over his head and friends that care about him. No, really, he is. But when he finds himself trapped inside with them during a sandstorm, it becomes harder and harder to keep his distance. Especially since Meryl and Wolfwood seem intent on getting closer to him.
Over the course of one night, Vash falls further into love and lust with them and might just discover that his feelings aren’t as unrequited as he thought.
