Phil was sitting to the side of the table, doodling a pattern of potion effects on the edge of the paper. He started and looked up, then laughed and pushed the paper away. “I’m not canny with this shit like you two, I just stay out of the way and shoot things.” He pushed blond hair out of his face. “Probably stay on the fuckin’ grid and spawn withers for you, I guess.”
Dream twisted to look at him. “You’re not canny?” There was a big grin in his voice. “You’re going to turn into a can, are you? When you’re spawning ‘wethers’ on the ‘gred’?” His head tilted back towards Techno, body language inviting him in on the joke.

The point is, Phil was busy. And Ranboo thought this to be his chance to prove himself to the two. Prove his worth. That he can be of use. Can defend them and himself if necessary. He totally wasn't worried that a rogue surviving bandit followed them home or anything! That's just stupid!
So, now here they are, Techno's axe resting against their thigh, staring at the front door with intense eyes. Lazor-focused, if you will.
Nothing's getting past that door.
Unless they want an axe in their throat.

Phil is standing in the snow.
And yet, not him.
His eyes glow as purple as the stuff on his skin and wings. He’s holding a netherite sword, deadly and sharp; he’s smiling, with too many teeth.
“Remember,” the ghost murmurs in Chayanne’s ear, hands slipping down from his shoulders to gently wrap around Chayanne’s own hands. “No one is gonna get hurt. We’re just gonna get that bastard outta your dad’s head.”
Chayanne’s hands are shaking, but the ghost’s touch is comforting. He leans into the cold contact, nodding.
“I’ve got you,” the ghost says softly.or, that one bit from the QSMP, but i made it angstier :)

Amid the dream, Technoblade stood over him in full armour, eyes intent, an ender chest in his hand. “Dream, c’mon. Dream we gotta get out of here, Phil’s waitin’ outside.”
Dream grinned at him, the expression slowly growing over his face as he looked upwards. Techno appeared in his dreams a lot. “Leavin’ so soon? Stay in and I’ll show you a good time, dude.”
A piece of armour thunked into his chest. “Spent my time in here and I wouldn’t call most of it good, really. Let’s get you home and we’ll talk about it. Put that on, we gotta move.”
Dream blinked down at the armour he was holding. Enchanted netherite breastplate, the design with the neck guard and the shoulder pauldrons, part of a full set that was lying on the obsidian next to him. That was new.
And Techno hadn’t told him he was smart and clever and sexy, like he normally did when Dream hit on him in his dreams. This wasn’t going at all like it usually did. Was he—
Or: Techno breaks Dream out of Pandora's Vault. But some wounds will keep hurting you long after they heal.
