Summary
The four-by-four heaves its way down long, twisting lanes, little more than dirt tracks scuffed into the surrounding fields and hemmed in by serpentine walls of flat, grey stone. They truly are in the middle of nowhere: the countryside rushes past, all rolling green hills and vast, endless skies, and it's odious. Sirius wants to murder James with his bare hands.
Sirius and James accidentally find themselves on a Yorkshire farm during lambing season. The farmer’s son thinks that’s a bit annoying, actually.

Summary
The fourth of July is rough, usually.
Billy doesn’t like going out or being near crowds, on the day itself, and neither of them can stand the sound of fireworks. It’s why Steve always takes the day off. He knows his colleagues think he’s some crazy patriot, but it’s worth it.
The first few years after, Billy would just spend the whole day in bed. Steve brought him snacks and watched TV while Billy slept through the day. It’s gotten better slowly. Last year, they did a barbecue on the balcony for the first time. Billy manned the grill shirtless, the star-shaped scar in the middle of his chest on proud display.
This year, Steve’s actually been looking forward to it. Will and Dustin moving back east - home, he secretly thinks – has put him in a good mood. No matter that they spent all day dragging boxes around for Will and Dustin, no matter that he’s sweating like a pig by midday, no matter that he’s wasting his vacation days for this, Steve’s happy.

Suddenly, Murdoc was greeting 2D in the morning with a kiss on the neck, and 2D would be brushing his hair out of his face or rubbing his arm as if they had been committed life partners for years.
The band is changing, but Russel isn't so sure.

Small as it was, they had their own room in the London safe house, which was a good thing because Joe was prying open Nicky’s mouth with his fingers. Not with his tongue, much as Nicky would prefer it, but with three calloused fingers sneaking inside his lips as if Nicky wouldn’t wake up from the intrusion. He was on his back, Joe pressed closer to him than his own shadow. The slant of moonlight from the window illuminated Joe’s dark eyes as he bent over Nicky. Joe sucked in the corner of his mouth, a tell that he’d never shaken off all these long centuries.

Sarwa is ladling stew into bowls and she hands the first one to Yusuf, who passes it to Nicolo and takes a drink from the now filled flask. “Is he your lover?” she asks.
Yusuf chokes on water and Nicolo pounds his back, eyebrows peaked with concern.
“I—” Yusuf pauses, wiping his streaming eyes.
Sarwa looks at him, nothing but mild curiosity on her face.
Yusuf glances at Nicolo. The firelight paints his cheekbones flickering gold, his eyes hooded and sleepy in the dim light.
“I don’t know what he is,” Yusuf finally admits, still looking at Nicolo.
Nicolo’s mouth quirks and he takes another bite of soup.
“He looks at you like you belong to him,” Sarwa says.
Nicolo keeps eating, oblivious to what they’re saying.
“I think he belongs to me too,” Yusuf whispers.
