The knee-jerk expectation of Dick Grayson is replaced by Dick Grayson’s brother.
Wally is staring at Damian Wayne.
Who just crawled—dressed as Robin, with his hands bound behind his back, blood streaming from a cut on his forehead—free of a van.

Summary
Slowly, Damian wiggles into a sitting position on his own, and scoots over to Stephanie’s side. She scans him over as he does the same to her, both looking for any obvious injuries. For the most part, they’re both fine.
Frightened and scared, but fine.
A third man- a thin, lanky, blond- steps into the room, pulling along another table. Steph has to crane her head to really see what’s on top of it, but as soon as she sees it, she pulls back, horrified.
Two, bright red branding irons sit on the gleaming metal surface.

In which, Steph and Damian are taken by an ex-League operative surgeon and his goons. The surgeon has plans to continue on with what Talia started in regards to Damian's metal spine, brands the duo in order to leave his mark, and gets his plans foiled by Stephanie's blatant awesomeness.

“I had to,” Father offers apologetically, as if that explains anything.

In the end it's 2005 and Damian is getting ready to start his internship as a surgeon at one of the highest rated hospitals for trauma medicine in the states. Seattle Grace Memorial Hospital. He just wishes his fellow interns weren't so dramatic.

Whenever he thinks to say something, it feels as if his trachea is being crushed by something prickly. Sometimes, if someone is asking him a question or he’s out on the field, he answers, but most of the time his tongue stays still. In his mind, he calls the silence a choice. He chooses to say less due to his own preferences, a budding maturity maybe. That is what he would say if someone asked about it, anyway. No one has asked, though.

Summary
When Bruce dies there’s a lot of pieces to pick up. Dick has to step into the role of Batman, and try to hold his family together. Meanwhile, fresh from the league, and unsure of his place anymore Damian’s not even sure what a real family looks like. Together the two, and the rest of Bruce’s children slowly take steps to learn what healing is. While they do so, a dark new villain is taking steps to make themselves known in Gotham.
Basically, I take Dick and Damian’s time as Batman and Robin and change absolutely everything.

Summary
Damian had always known his past would catch up with him sooner or later.
He was an ex-assassin with blood and countless other sins on his ledger. Regardless of his good intentions now, that kind of past doesn’t just go away just because he’s working to redeem himself.
That being said…he really hadn’t thought this would happen.
Damian thought as he stared at the crime scene photos his father had pulled up on the batcave computer for review. Of which there were thankfully few but still plenty for Damian to realize just why exactly he recognized the name of the gruesomely bloody man on the screen and why the details of this case had all seemed annoyingly familiar.
I definitely killed this man.
Or-
Damian is investigating a murder when he realizes the culprit to be himself. His family also individually realizes this and exercises exactly 0 communication skills. Chaos ensues

Aside from the normal - and at times abnormal - crimes in Gotham, families started disappearing with only so little trace.
This case was already straining the developing relationship of the Batfamily, little did they know that's not where their problems end.
Or the Batfamily except for Damian gets turned into cats and Damian is just trying his best to take care of his family.
