Summary
Realistically, she knew it was a bad idea from the beginning. Curses, in her experience, had a funny way of always backfiring in one way or another.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?"
"I could ask you the very same, Little One. I am Zuko, Prince of Hell." He leveled her with a glare. "At your service and awaiting your command."
She hadn't cursed her stupid ex. She'd summoned a fucking demon.

Katara drunkenly summons a demon.

Summary
It's been five years since the end of the war, and marriage is the word on everyone's minds. But Katara knows what that really means. First comes marriage, and then children. She has been shackled with the responsibility of carrying on the airbender line before it goes completely extinct--and it's a mantle she has prepared herself well to take on. She loves Aang, and being a crucial part of history together...well, it's something she is honored to do by his side.
That is, until memories and dreams start resurfacing as she barrels towards a future alongside the Avatar. And on the night of her wedding, she finds herself starting to spiral just a little. And only Zuko is there to comfort her.
Meanwhile, the Fire Council has enforced an age-old law upon Zuko: marry by age 21 or forfeit the throne. One too many assassination attempts has them all feeling a bit nervous, and they want to guarantee the royal line. Zuko has resigned himself to a dull, loveless arranged marriage for the good of his nation.
But then he and Katara are brought back together unexpectedly, forced to work alongside one another. And it quickly becomes impossible to forget what happened between them and the secrets they swore to keep.

Summary
The room is in chaos; a muddle of empty bottles and puzzle pieces here, a skewed lampshade there...
‘Everything okay?’
Katara spins towards the door, and there he is. Shirtless. Because she’s wearing his shirt.
Memories of the night before come back to Katara in fragments. God, they really messed up that jigsaw puzzle.

Summary
They both know where this is going. The question has already been answered in the twining of their fingers, in the heady, heart-racing silence that falls over them as he walks her to her quarters.
But somehow, no matter the inevitability of it, he’s still not ready for the way her mouth feels against his. There’s a balance to it all; a delicious, desperate harmony in the way he pushes and she pulls.

Summary
Katara nods, and Zuko has to scrunch up his nose to keep from sneezing as loose strands of hair tickle him. “I’m glad you’re here.”
“I am too.”
“Mornings are lonely.”
Without his permission, his half-asleep mouth runs away from him. “I’m always lonely.”~~
Katara and Zuko meet at a party.

Summary
“You seemed much more comfortable the last time we talked. You had sobered up by that point, right? You were sober when you agreed to this?”
Like she needs more of a reminder of that night, of the dizzy slant of his mouth against hers, the shiver of his touch under her shirt, the ceasefire that seemed to fall between them as their hands slowed to a well-advised stop and they tipped into the uncomfortable clarity of post-drunken murmurings.
Like she hasn’t thought about it every minute since it happened.
Like that isn’t half the fucking issue, here.
Zuko's put forward a proposition — something that he thinks might help Katara to, in his words, stop thinking about anything else for a while. Now it's up to her to decide whether or not she trusts him enough to go through with it.
It might turn out that letting go is easier than she thinks...

It was one of those moments where it didn’t matter that she was the one controlling him. Katara was completely at the mercy of the soft rasp of his voice and the heat radiating off of him, the feel of his blood overtaking her senses.

Summary
“Can you stay the night?” she finds herself asking, lifting her chin so that she can look at his face. “Just this once?”
Zuko just nods, his hand wrapping around hers, his calloused palms soothing against her cool skin.
They stare at each other, neither one of them moving, neither speaking. Katara wonders what is going through Zuko’s mind at this moment, if his heart is as full of regret as hers.

“You’re supposed to make a wish, you know,” Katara whispered against his chest, her voice trembling slightly.
“Am I?”
“Yeah,” she nodded. “They say that whatever you wish for will come true the next year.”
The pair fell into a contemplative silence, his warmth seeping into her as he held her.
“I think I know what I want,” Zuko murmured, his voice so quiet that she almost didn’t hear him.
He glanced down to meet her eyes and, at that moment, she wanted nothing more than to kiss him.

Summary
Katara has been cruising through her biochemistry degree at Ba Sing Se University, well on her way to medical school, when Organic Chemistry II puts a kink in her plans. The class throws her for a loop, and she spends long hours with the TA, a sweet guy named Haru. Then Haru is out sick, and his inscrutable roommate Zuko fills in for him. Zuko is handsome in a sharp sort of way, if you're into arrogant self-centered assholes, which she's not. Only, he's an excellent teacher, and when he's not being a jerk he is unbearably kind, and he captivates her in a way she can't explain. He throws her for a loop, just like O-Chem, only not like O-Chem at all.
