    “Don’t sound so grim,” Arioch said, waving an airy hand. “I want life. Nothing thou canst not provide easily enough.”

    Arioch was not speaking of blood or souls. Rather, he meant something that existed in the periphery of their pact, through tradition and implication. He had never demanded it brought into the light before. Then again, Elric had never eaten one god and called on the aid of one of Law before, either.

    Arioch reminds Elric who he belongs to.
