All what was required of him, per Adam's promise, was a meeting in Heaven's embassy to make the exemption official. He could pull it off just fine.
It wasn't like one simple conversation was going to kill him.

Summary
Adam's shade and the voices of her dead exorcists haunted Lute. Sera, the only person left alive who Lute respected, passed her over and ignored her while the foundations of Lute's life were ripped apart on the whims of Hell's princess. The punishment for traitors has always been clear, and Lute has always done her duty. No matter how painful.
To suffer the sinner to live is to betray Heaven, and Sera allowed one into Heaven.
In a forgotten meeting room, Lute makes a decision that will shake Creation to its very foundations.
