It wasn’t about Aziraphale believing his side was best, the demon had begun to understand after all these years. It was about what would happen to the angel if he went against Heaven’s orders.
Crowley, who had gone against Heaven’s orders and been cast out six thousand years ago, knew exactly what would happen. And he didn’t want it for Aziraphale. The fact that the angel had gone against his superiors deliberately and not had any repercussions was… well, a miracle, really.

What if Crowley and Aziraphale never got a chance to switch faces? What if they were taken to Heaven and Hell as themselves? What if Heaven and Hell decided a different punishment was more suitable than execution?
Mostly I just wanted to have some fun with what Hell might be like so this fic was born -

Summary
There is a race that takes place every year in Alaska called the Iditarod, a thousand mile journey across the Alaskan wilderness by dog sled team that has come to be known as "The Last Great Race on Earth”. It is a test of endurance, of the relationship between dogs and their people, traversing mountain ranges, frozen rivers, forest and tundra.
When writer Castiel Milton is forced to spend two and a half months in Alaska at Winchester Kennels to cover the race preparations and the Iditarod itself, the only person more dismayed than he is Dean Winchester, one of his hosts. Castiel views his assignment as a punishment and is less than impressed by his surly host, and Dean distrusts the sheltered city-born writer who has invaded their home and their lives. But soon, as the Winchesters prepare for their race and Castiel learns about sled dogs and what a musher’s lifestyle is all about, they forget to hate each other and their relationship evolves into something neither of them expected.

Sam was convinced that Dean was going to work himself into the ground. And if Dean asked, if he asked anyone- Bobby, Ellen, Benny, Garth- they would help him, because he was twenty-one years old and charming and wonderful and raising two little brothers and working two jobs and taking classes online and they had to see how tired he was, anyone could see that.
But Dean would never ask, because it had been just him for so long he'd probably forgotten how to.
So when Adam came home with A+ papers, and Dean with circles like bruises under his eyes, Sam smiled at one and soothed the other and prayed every night for somebody to come along and save his brother from himself.
