Summary
Just because Joe is dead doesn’t mean Ryan can let him go. It doesn’t mean he loves him any less, nor does it mean Joe is truly gone, though the grief is chewing at Ryan’s brain like an angry rat. As his madness spirals out of control, Ryan falls down the rabbit hole on a crash course toward certain death. Joe is right there with him though, riding shotgun with the promise to never let him go. Along the way, there are a few dead bodies and a couple of bone-shaking surprises. And in the end, Ryan might just get exactly what he wants.

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR BG3. SPECIFICALLY THE DARK URGE QUESTLINE.
Bhaal has a new spawn created with the dark god’s own blood and sworn to drown the world in a pool of death and gore. When the Dark Urge is sent to kill the man who resurrected the worship of Bane in Baldur’s Gate , the urge meets a cunning human named Enver Gortash who greets him with a silver tongue and conviction. The pair come to an understanding and an unlikely alliance is formed between two worshipers of Bhaal and Bane.
Set 5 years before the events of Baldur’s Gate 3, this fic serves as one possible account of how the dead three came to form their pact. Loose notes and small dialogue from bg3 served as the inspiration for this fic (specifically the Memoirs by Gortash book that you find in his quarters). I loved the short interactions and hints we got at their past together. I will update the TW tags as I go but there will be a lot of death, violence, manipulation, and blood.
