Frank Castle stood near the back of the line, hands shoved deep into the pockets of a beige jacket that smelled faintly of laundry detergent. He was thirty-four, relaxed in a way he hadn't been since he left the army, his mind quiet, for once. A few yards away, near the bench, Lisa was trying to stop Frankie from feeding his pretzel crust to a pigeon, while Maria laughed, pulling them apart and gently shooing the bird. It was an October afternoon of 2015, and life was okay.
somewhatnerdy made the point that there was a time in 2015 where, while peter was spiderman, he was still, like, okay, and frank wasn't yet the punisher. the idea of them meeting as Regular People before the horrors kicked in... omg. i wrote this all in one sitting and did not edit, sorry if it sounds clunky or odd.

It was 4:14 in the morning according to the flickering digits of the cheap alarm clock by the mattress he hadn’t bothered to put a sheet on the night before.
It was almost comical, he thinks, how predictably he woke up from nightmares. Shooting up violently, as if an invisible wire had yanked his spine upward, his heart hammering against his ribs like a caged bird. His throat was dry, as if he’d been screaming, constricting every time he tried to pull air into his lungs.
OR: peter can't sleep. he goes to kitchen to find that frank can't sleep, either. they talk about it (or try to, anyway.)

Frank Castle was propped against a rusted dumpster, one hand clamped hard over his left side. Blood was already pooling in the folds of his tactical vest. Frank didn’t seem too concerned for the amount of blood pouring out of his side, but he didn’t seem much of anything. Probably not a great sign, Peter couldn’t help but think. THE punisher, motionless and expressionless in the corner of some dark, creepy alley.
OR; Frank gets a little roughed up. Peter helps him out!! (Frank’s allergic to kindness but I assure you he’s thankful)

It was Benji’s tenth birthday, and David’s stupid little feelings didn’t matter.

Merritt clears his throat. Danny doesn’t react.
Merritt considers just going back to bed. He’s tired, and not that thirsty, and Danny is an adult, for Christ's sake. Simply put, it’s just not his problem. Danny had been distant for weeks now, and Merritt has just about had it. He’s not making him a late night snack, too.
But still, the feeling in the back of his head returns, and he clears his throat one more time before speaking.
OR: Merritt’s tired, Danny’s hungry, and some feelings are discovered along the way. Not romantic ones, that sounds romantic. Danny is just a pile of guilt and Merritt is personally offended by that.
