There weren’t any lights in the room so that the starlight had nothing to compete with, and it was beautiful and vast and made him forget about everything, absolutely everything… but then there was a slight cough and Lance realized he wasn’t alone.
“Shit. Sorry. Wait, Keith?”
“Yeah. Lance?”
“Yes. Sorry,” Lance whispered, backing up. “Didn’t know someone was here. I’ll- I’ll go.”
Turning around and about to leave, Lance paused when Keith said hoarsely, “It’s fine. You can stay.”

Edit on 12/5/20: I kinda lost inspiration for this story because school became too much, and now a year has passed and I realized I kinda left without an explanation, and I felt guilty so here it is... Anyway. I'll be leaving the fic up in case I ever want to come back to it, but right now it seems unlikely. DEH is still a favorite of mine, though!
What if Connor really was there when Evan fell out of the tree? What if that was the day that they had met, rather than the other day, over the letter about Zoe?

He’s just looking at him, so tenderly, so open. Bruce forces himself to meet the gaze, not sure what’s reflecting in his eyes. He hopes that whatever Clark can see in them is enough to keep him there.
“I’m not going to press,” Clark says, which at least isn’t him leaving. “If you don’t want this, that’s okay.”
This isn’t how it’s supposed to go. There is supposed to be a profound coming together. Clark is waiting and Bruce doesn’t know how to get there.
(Or Bruce needs some courage and a little nudge to get there and Clark is patient and unwavering.)
