rather than spending christmas eve in the joyful company of hinata’s family, kageyama and hinata find themselves snowed-in and stuck in a cabin until the blizzard clears up.
somehow, kageyama and hinata had fallen asleep when hinata’s grandmother sent them to do a task and they woke up to heavy snowfall. at least they’d be able to spend christmas eve together.

in the heat of the moment, kageyama forgets to propose to hinata on the court after they win the gold medal at the olympics. so, he ends up doing it in the locker room… with the entire team watching them, sweaty, underdressed and rushing out for their post-match interviews.
hinata doesn’t accept the proposal and kageyama pouts all the way back to japan, completely oblivious to the surprise hinata had planned for their arrival

being in the same city as tendou but not being able to see him was an absolute tragedy to ushijima. thankfully, his teammates whined loud enough about not being able to explore paris that their coach agreed to let the team be released into the wild for a day as long as they won a gold medal – which they did.

then again, it was the hinatas. he should have known that a night of dress up and candies was going to get them hyped up. despite the exhaustion that crept into his bones by the end of the night, he wouldn’t mind doing it all over again next year.

a lot of people didn’t understand how hinata always remained confident despite the things people have said about him. everyone knew that he experienced a lot of push-back and criticism when it came to his decision to play volleyball
despite all that, he fought hard on the court. he proved that he was a player worth setting the ball to. no matter what happened, nothing could get him down.

I’ve heard a lot of stories from my parents and their friends; stories about volleyball or about their relationship itself. So, imagine my surprise that I had to find out on Google that they almost got banned from the Olympics because of my Dad’s proposal.
Spoiler alert; he thought that spiking someone in the head would be romantic.

Fast forward to where I am now, I’m a coach to a high school volleyball team.

The two of them were student athletes and I was the manager for their sports club. There were only five of us in our year’s intake so, naturally, we became closer as friends.

a box of condoms placed in the middle of the olympic village meant nothing but trouble for men that had had their braincells replaced with miniature volleyballs. to no one’s surprise, kageyama and hinata had declared a new competition about it – to see who could get through the most condoms by the end of the games.
as much as their team loved them, they all wished they hadn’t announced it in the middle of the village for all the other athletes to hear.
