Summary
“Bucky, you have got to stop living like this,” says Sam, surveying Bucky’s bare apartment with dismay.
It looks exactly as bare and grim as it had on Sam’s previous visits: a living room that consists of one couch, one armchair, and one TV, along with a single closed cabinet, and a tiny kitchen table with one chair. Wait, two chairs. Sam’s visits have apparently occasioned the purchase of one additional chair, which Sam supposes is progress of a sort. Though Sam suspects that when he looks into the bedroom, he’ll find that exactly as it was last time too: an almost certainly unused and neatly made bed, a set of drawers, and a half-empty closet.
When an argument about Bucky's (lack of) interior design skills turns surprisingly serious, Sam and Bucky both have to face some truths about themselves and their relationship. A trip to IKEA and a snowstorm prove to be more helpful and enlightening than expected on that score.

“I’m not sharing my room,” Sam mutters, knowing as he says it that it sounds exactly like he’s a fucking ten year old facing a new sibling. Steve hastily makes what Sam thinks is supposed to be an understanding face.
“Of course not,” he says soothingly. “He can bunk in with me, it’s not like we haven’t done it before. It's a twin room, anyway, there's already a spare bed.”
Sam guesses a bigger house is out of the question. Whatever; the three of them have spent eight hours crammed in a Mini, it can’t be that bad.
It’s not that bad. It’s worse.

When Sam had spent three summers of his teenage years working as a camp counselor, he never would have anticipated it being the definitive bootcamp for being the head of the Avengers. Sure, it hadn’t taught him how to hold his own in a fire fight or barrel roll through explosions, but it turned out most of his life as Captain America wasn’t about that. Being able to facilitate compromise; getting rowdy, obnoxious idiots to shut up and listen to you; walking into a room and detecting exactly who was responsible for the bullshit being perpetuated by an innocent looking group of people—these were the skills he found most useful.
Which is how, when he walked into the conference room to prep for the afternoon briefing, he knew whatever cracktastic hell was going on was Yelena’s fault.OR, the one where the new Avengers line up bonds over a TikTok Challenge.

Honestly, as places to get stranded on a mission go, this isn’t bad.
The cabin is tucked into the lee of a snow-covered hill, surrounded by pines whose spindly trunks give way to shocks of green. The snow glitters in the rays of the setting sun, and Sam half-expects to see Santa and a troupe of reindeer sled into view at any moment. Under other circumstances, it might actually be kind of romantic.
Unfortunately for Sam, their circumstances are these: only road out of the mountains impassable, thanks to a combination of snow and some rampaging rock monsters that were a real pain in the ass to take care of; wings out of commission, also thanks to said rock monsters; a bruised shoulder that promises to ache bone-deep for days; and Bucky hasn’t said two words to him in the past two hours.
(Or: Sam and Bucky haven't been dating long, and they still have some teething problems to work through when it comes to seeing each other in danger. Getting stranded on a snowbound mountain in the middle of said problems is just their luck.)

Kaz, Jesper, and Inej laid low, hatching up a plan to get back to the Crow Club unnoticed by neither the Merchant Council nor Pekka Rollins.
No big revelations, no impossible schemes, no adventures in any way.
Until six idiots bored out of their minds decided they were not cut out to just sitting pretty and waiting. And the rest of the ship would suffer for it.
