Summary
Political intrigue and interpersonal relationships have a wonderful time together as a Yautja Prince tries to court a gruff, grumpy, human Knight who was only there to protect the Princess that was supposed to be married off in the first place.
With political interests riding on that union, Galgo is given little choice but to go along with it. Pretending to fall in love can't be that hard, right?
That is, until it actually happens.
Too bad nothing good ever stays good when it comes to Galgo Helder.

A distinct pop rings behind him. “What’s taking you so— oh my! What happened to the lights? I know I put some in here!”
Kinger turns just in time to see Caine’s eyes frantically searching to confirm his own competence, that he really didn’t just forget something so important as being able to see in the tent. A diligent AI, as always. Not perfect, but god knows Kinger isn’t either, so why would he expect that from his creation?
Well, not just his— they had a whole team, after all, and Queenie would not take kindly to not getting credit for her wonderful additions.
Their creation. All of their life’s work.
Kinger’s eyes crinkle fondly, no mouth to betray how he is smiling on the inside. “Hello, Caine.” He says. “I think this is some of your best work yet.”
(Or as the rest of the gang engages in a fast food masquerade, Kinger finds just enough sanity to talk to Caine properly. If only everything he said didn’t terrify Caine, or this might’ve all gone differently.)

Njohrr decides to take care of the Dek problem sooner than in canon - much, much sooner. Only just made a blooded warrior himself, Kwei takes Dek and runs, his goal Clan Ya'Ytiirh - a wealthy and powerful clan with a reputation for being more lenient on weakness.
The two brothers struggle to adjust not just to a new home but to a new culture and the discovery that much of what they believed about the world and the codex was wrong. But even as they find a way to fit into this new life, the shadow of their past lingers - and Njohrr accepts defiance with as much grace as he does weakness.

The yell, guttural and ragged like a demon gasping for air after nearly drowning, echoed across the cavernous mansion. Blitz could barely register that he was the one who made such a noise since his hearing was overwhelmed by the sound of his own erratic heartbeat. Dimly he was aware of Stolas talking, of picking up the crystal that Blitz must have flung across the room mid-outburst, of the sticky sensation of cold sweat soaking into the back of his only good shirt.
None of that mattered, mostly because Blitz was struggling to get his thoughts together past "breathe, breathe, breathe."
(Things come to a head when Stolas makes a big stupid gesture towards the imp he had kept on a string for months on end. Surprisingly, Blitz doesn't take it very well. An attempt to re-do the events at the end of Full Moon)
