His eyes are red, in a shade that doesn’t catch the light because there’s nothing to catch onto, but the glow remains as if they were backlit from the inside. A furnace, a death ray, heat that burns if he looks at it too long.

His voice goes high at the end, a tremble of disbelief mixed with panic that makes the shock in Argenti settle strangely—almost with satisfaction. He shivers, biting the inside of his cheek to hold back a nonsensical smile.
This sort of fierce devotion, of fear for his sake, it’s… “Beautiful.”
AKA: When Argenti fulfills his promise, and returns to take Velite home, there's a few things that aren't left unsaid.
