The Venin were gone. finished, they were simply another part of the continent’s history. A story of the countries, despite all of their differences uniting. What the history books would never speak about is horror. the horrors she saw as she harnessed her lighting, almost killing Xaden in the process.
He had told her before his complete and utter transformation that she would be the only one able to hurt him, to finish him for the greater good of the world. She had thought it a bluff. A joke because she would certainly cure him. It never would ever come to that. And cure him she did, but not before the dozens of battles. Death and despair seemed to follow the Duchess of Tyrrendor wherever she went. And she was so fucking sick of it.
So she vowed, the cure would be found and she would run. She would run and give it to him, she would run and heal the rest, she would destroy whoever and whatever came in her path and she would run to the quaint cottage that sat waiting for her deep in the countryside of Navarre.
The war ended, Violet abdicated the throne and she ran.
5 years pass and she wonders if she was too impulsive.
