Brusquely, Shen Qingqiu shakes his sleeve back out to cover up his humiliation. For a second, he considers stubbornly denying everything, lying, deflecting - and just as quickly, he dismisses it. He’s been caught; acting as if he hasn’t been would only be pathetic. Wasn’t this really only inevitable?

Summary
After a Qi deviation, Shen Qingqiu regresses into his 12 year old self, just after he was sold to the Qiu household, with no memories of his life up until that point. Trapped, he believes he has been sold one more time. When the other peak lords discover him in the bamboo hut, they immediately assume the worst: their fellow peak lord has taken in an underage girl for nefarious reasons. Enraged, they launch an investigation against Shen Qingqiu, vowing to bring him to justice in the absence of Yue Qingyuan.
With no memories to support or deny this claim, Shen Jiu plays along, leveraging the righteous cultivators' outrage for his own survival. He is taken in as a disciple of Xuan Shu peak, where he is forced to come to terms with his own past traumas, and experiences related to his gender.
