Summary
In Torveld’s dreams Erasmus was a free man and they were not master and slave but lovers. Erasmus was intelligent, creative and empathetic. He would have made a great advisor to the king or a praised and famous poet. Instead he had been made into a work of art, a source of pleasure. A tool. A very elaborate tool, a masterpiece even, but still a tool. This slave was made to please, this slave was made for a master, this slave was made for his master’s pleasure. Whenever Erasmus formulated it this way Torveld felt sick. Whoever had made Erasmus into a slave had not only created a work of art, they had also broken a man beyond repair.

It started in the gardens of Arles. Laurent had watched Ancel kneel between Damen’s legs and bring Damen pleasure, a place Laurent once occupied for another. It was easy to slip back into that role and guide Ancel’s every move, to control that scene all while knowing he would not be touched or filled or used. So had their second—Sukkot dinner eaten out in Erik's untidy backyard—and their third, where they’d accidentally attended an open mic night at the cryptid co-op bookstore and Erik had realized around the time the Jersey devil had pulled out his harmonica that he was actually having fun.
Their fourth had been a play followed by dinner followed by… dessert, and walking home that night, Erik had found himself thinking that this might be the most successful relationship he’d had since—well, since Charles, the last time.
Of course they'd gotten kidnapped by the Old God cult Erik had been investigating almost immediately afterward. Erik was a seasoned investigator of the occult and uncanny. He didn't believe in jinxes. But he'd jinxed them.

RELATIONSHIPS: Scott is dating Jean at the beginning of this fic. He and Logan become involved later. Scott's past relationship with Sabretooth is strictly non-consensual.
WARNINGS: In this and later chapters there are references to past underage rape (of Scott on the Island); Scott is also raped during the course of this fic.
