她本该拒绝，为所谓家族的荣耻，为那无辜的联姻妻子，或者为她自己内心的尊严。什么都好。
只是当那调笑的悠扬声音在耳边缠绵时，她连一句话都说不出口。

莉莉香不明白事情是怎么发展到这个地步的。
靠在墙边，甚至还能听见微弱的她那联姻妻子的喘息，

若是问蛇喰梦子，她会笑意嫣然地嗔怪会长不和她赌博的狠心。
可你若是问起会长身边最亲近的私人秘书，那个永远理智冷静的女人——
“温吞。”五十岚清华浅笑一下回答，手上泡茶的动作不停，带起一阵氤氲。
就像吃药时含在口中的一口温水，带着恰到好处的温度，将你俘获在药的清苦里。五十岚道。
并不滚烫，也不冰凉。温水煮青蛙一样，让人心甘情愿醉在这温柔乡。
让人拿不清「恰好」的分量，于是一口一口，被蛊惑着迈向「过度」的边界。
这种被温柔包裹，看不清不远处亟待灭亡的深渊的窒息与恐慌——
五十岚吞咽了下口水，在嘴中打转盘旋的词语最终吞入腹腔。

Some beggar's swiped billions of yen off Kirari! The money itself isn't an issue for the renowned heiress of the Momobami's thriving chain casino empire, of course; it's pennies to her. What poses an issue is the breach in her security, the sheer disrespect on her clan's name.
Well, that's at least how Sayaka sees it. She really shouldn't be acting outside of Kirari's orders like this, and its eating away at her, but she simply can't stand to see her beloved's reputation stained by letting them get away with this!

And so after Sayaka Igarashi’s third husband turned up dead, the villagers started to become suspicious. They started to gossip. They started to make up stories to explain the unexplainable, picking and choosing details that fit their various beliefs and motives, each one more far-fetched and fantastical than the last.
The tall tales about the strange, violent deaths condensed into a single point until all the gossip homogenized into a lone culprit, and the villagers constructed their preferred explanation: the husbands of Lady Igarashi had been taken by the yuki-onna – the snow woman.
Written as part of The Hundred Devouring Artist's third volume of work celebrating Halloween 2022. Enjoy!
