Owen has been working ever since he can remember. Maybe it wasn't always laborious work, but working nonetheless. Now, he had eight years until he paid off his debt and gained his freedom, and things seemed to be going well. Eight years was a long time, but it would be worth it when he belonged to himself again. No chains, binds, or masters to bend to. He counted the nights with a smile.
When two strangers enter the Manor, he's not surprised. What does surprise him is their kindness. He's not foolish enough to believe he has anything they want, nor that they'd look twice at someone like him, but they were kind and powerful. He's not sure of their motives, but as time goes on, he knows they're different from the Baron. Different from Him.

Losing control of your ability was one of the more unforgivable acts. People who are found to have powers are put into programs of training immediately, not everyone did, though. Hell, it was rare to even have a trace of an ability. Avid used to consider himself lucky to be one of the few that possessed such powers. He, Musi, and Elle.
That never should have been the case. Now, Elle was dead, and Musi… God, she’d never seen him once after he was put here now three years ago.

What she knew, Percy wasn't sure but she definetly knew something. With Athena at Telemachus' side and Apollo following Percy around, this new land was shaping up to be very different than his own.
