Summary
“You see, Dazai-kun,” Mori said, as if lecturing a student, “if you’re going to do this, you should at least do it correctly. There’s no reason to make such a mess. I really don’t understand how it is you manage to be such a careless child sometimes.”
Blood followed the blade, bright and fresh. Dazai’s vision narrowed at the edges. He focused on the sound of Mori’s voice, the gentle scrape of metal against skin.
or: Dazai cuts wrong. Mori corrects him.

Summary
He had missed something, evidently.
A meeting, perhaps. A mission. Several hours. Time had become unreliable after Dazai returned to the container, and he had made no attempt to discipline it. There had been a clock once, but its ticking irritated him, so he had drowned it in a bucket. He thought it might still be there in the corner.
“Go away,” Dazai called.
There was a brief silence outside. Then Chuuya said, “Open the fucking door.”
or: Dazai is halfway through bleeding himself numb when Chuuya tears the door off its hinges. Being found does nothing to make him want to live.

Summary
The mask was peeled from ghostly skin. Tony’s jaw tightened as his eyes glazed over the stranger before them.
A boy.
His eyes were shut, sunken in and shadowed with eyebags that hung just aside of his cheekbones. His cheeks were flushed a vivid pink in contrast to the stark whiteness of his flesh. Blood trailed from his nostrils down the curvature of his face in a thin rivulet.
‘Shit, Tony, he’s a kid,’ Steve replied, voice almost wavering. Valorous, mighty ol’ Captain America brought to silence by a child.

Summary
In 2004, My Chemical Romance were on tour.
Shitty motels, a sweaty tour bus, sold-out shows around the world.
Involved with an influentially-bad singer from another band, Gerard began to spiral into addiction. No one really noticed. Everyone went to parties and drank on tour.
But Frank noticed.
After a quiet night alone together – and a few tense exchanges he might have called flirting – he started to view Gerard as more than a friend.
