“You’re super pretty. Like, angel-level pretty.” Gi-hun spoke in a slurry voice. “…wait, are you an angel?” Then he looked around the room, his gaze wandering from the medical equipment to the IV drip attached to his hand and the tangle of wires surrounding him.
“…are you here to take me to heaven?”
“No, I’m not an angel.” In-ho couldn’t help it—he chuckled. “Gi-hun, don’t you remember me? I’m your husband.”
The revelation probably hit Gi-hun like an anvil. His eyes widened so dramatically that they looked like they might pop out of his head. “You’re my husband?” The cracker he’d been holding slipped out of his hand and landed on his chest. “Have we kissed yet?”
Or, Gi-hun wakes up from surgery, high on the effect of anesthesia, and hits on his husband In-ho.

"Of course, silly," Jung-bae patted his shoulder, chuckling like, instead of a threat, In-ho cracked a funny joke for once. "It's called a calendar."
Or, after having witnessed the closeness Jung-bae shared with Gi-hun, In-ho's mask cracked and he, in the fit of possessiveness and possibly jealousy, found himself unable to contain the bitterness he harbored for Gi-hun's best friend. Unfortunately, no one — not even Jung-bae — took the danger he promised seriously. Not when he was, according to everybody, tiny and cute.

Nam-gyu almost falls back. What?

Summary

Friends invite Gi-hun to their get-together party and encourage him to bring his partner with him. Gi-hun panics and promises to come with his boyfriend. Needless to say, he doesn't have one. He's sure he'll end up suffering the torture of “how do I explain to everyone that my boyfriend is just really busy at work and can't come if there really is no boyfriend at all and I obviously look stupid trying to pretend there is” at dinner, however, when he arrives he finds out that he does, in fact, have a boyfriend. Well, maybe it's only the second time he sees this man, but who counts?
Or: Gi-hun accidentally tells a stranger at a bar that he lied to his friends about the existence of his boyfriend. In-ho can't resist taking this chance to get close to the man who won his attention at first sight. Everything goes according to plan.

What if Gi-hun and in-ho weren’t truly strangers before the games? What if gi-hun’s childhood friend had moved away aged seven? What if he’d forgotten his old playmates name by now? And what if -somehow unbeknownst to them both- their old memories would accidentally be the catalyst for a beautiful romance inside the arena?
Or, gi-hun and in-ho were strangers before the games, but that hadn’t always been the case. In a moment of stupidity after revealing a nugget of truth from his childhood in-ho triggers a set of memories in Gi-hun’s head, memories of a sweet boy who picked flowers to lay on the graves of their toy soldiers, the same boy who had left when they were nine with a peck on the cheek and a vow to find him one day when they were grown.

They’re not looking at him, so Richie lifts his jacket and looks at his side, where the pain seems to be radiating from. On his side, ripped clean across through to his back, he’s got a gaping wound from Pennywise’s claw. It missed Eddie and pierced right through him, shredding his side when he rolled Eddie away and scrambled up after him. Richie feels woozy just looking at it.
“My shirt,” Richie mumbles mindlessly. It’s the least of his fucking concerns, but he’s pretty sure his shirt looks a lot like the shirt the guy wears in A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge, and he was hoping someone else would notice someday. He was really hoping Eddie might be that someone.

Maggie Tozier was never one for neighborhood gossip, especially about the children. She prided herself for minding her own business and being a mom that her son, Richie, would willingly talk to. Her friends told her about the times they had snooped through their children’s rooms to find out what they were up to, or how so and so were caught in a car together or whatnot, but she tried not to pay attention. After all, it wasn’t her life, and those poor kids were going through enough as it is, trying to find themselves and fit in. She knew firsthand what it was like trying to date in Derry. It was a town where everybody knew everybody, and nobody let you forget. So, whenever her friends tried gossiping about who got caught with who, she would just scoff, roll her eyes, and tell them they weren’t in high school anymore. They usually understood and kept it amongst themselves, discussing it without her. She was perfectly fine with that; she didn’t want to know anyway. She had a good relationship with her son and knew he talked to her about everything.
That is, until she saw the picture.

Fact number two: You and Luca now own your very own Vespa. It's not road-ready yet, and it might not be for a while, which is fine actually because it turns out now that the Paguros aren't going to send Luca away to the bottom of the ocean, you're going to have to whittle them down into giving him permission to run away with you.
Fact number three: That's not even really a plan that makes sense, if you think about it for more than a few minutes at a time.
Fact number four: You haven't forgotten that Luca doesn't actually want to run away with you anymore. He's just pretending he never said it.
