Since they left gravity falls, Mabel and Dipper have been kind of messed up. Ford and Stan, while doing better after their arctic journey, are struggling more than either of them would like to admit. Hunkered down in snowy Oregon, secrets become harder and harder to conceal.
In other words: the Pines family are all extremely mentally ill and essentially snowed in.
