Zhuo Yichen's eyes immediately spotted a lot more naked skin than he was used to - the yao leaning back against a rock slab at the edge of the pool, his lower half thankfully covered by water and steam. Zhuo Yichen had seen Zhao Yuanzhou topless before, but not like this - and certainly not bathing. The yao had his head tossed back, his hair damp and cascading down his back, his normally pale skin was flushed, eyes closed, eyebrows furrowed, and lips open in a gasp of pain and perhaps….

“You guys ok?” Wei Wuxian asked, and then scratched his head a bit awkwardly. He had no idea what to do with kids. Or how to talk to them, to be honest. Then he scoffed, “Of course that was a dumbass question - shit - ah well, it’s not like you haven’t heard someone cuss before.”
He visibly slapped a hand over his mouth to keep from putting a boot in it and took a few minutes to calm the fuck down. Then he tried again, “I’m Wei Ying, courtesy name Wuxian. You can call me whatever, it doesn’t matter. Are you guys unharmed?”
The oldest boy - Lan Xichen nodded and then spoke shyly, “We’re not hurt.”
The younger boy - Lan Wangji stayed silent as the grave and looked like he was totally judging Wei Wuxian for all of his life choices, past, present, and future. Jesus, the kid had one hell of a murder scowl that could rival that pissed off demon donkey of his sister’s.
