There's a mouse there but the thing next to it isn't a mouse. Louis feels like he was ready to accept the fact that there were tiny rodents that loved to clean and write college essays but there's no way that one of his Malteasers is being lifted above the head of a tiny little person pressing the mouse away with a foot and frantically whispering, “no, no, no! Be quiet, he’ll hear us!”
Or Louis is a uni student and Harry is the little person living in his music box.

Harry huffed grumpily. Why are you learning sign language?
“Because, I want to be able to talk to you.” Louis looked small, gripping tightly at the steering wheel.
Why?
You’re my friend. Louis signed shakily, having to try it a few times before getting it right. And well, Harry just snapped.
We’re not friends. I don’t know what makes you think that we’re okay but we’re not. You stopped being my friend once you found out that I went deaf. I don’t know if this is your way of ‘making up for it’ or if you think that hanging out with the deaf guy and learning a bit of sign language is your ‘kind deed’ to the world but I don’t want to be your charity case and I don’t want to be your friend.

Harry knew Louis felt awfully guilty for all the stress he puts Harry through with all this fame stuff. Louis was used to the constant attention, of course, him and the rest of the boys being practically one of the hottest boy bands for the past couple years now. But Harry was still trying to get used to this whole being famous thing. He knew dating Louis would come with sacrifice of his private life and every comfortable aspect that came with it (he kind of enjoyed the fame at first. He didn't want to admit it, but how many people get to be on the covers of magazines standing next to their famous, hot, successful boyfriend?).
