Summary
Everyone in The Pitt is a fucking gossip.
Emery's known this for years. Nurses and residents and med students and security will cycle in and out but the one fucking constant is that everyone loves to knee deep in each other's lives. It's worse now than it's ever been. The Filipino nurses are no joke.
Emery's not immune to it. She makes damn sure that she's not the subject of said gossip- outside of a surgery gone well - and she doesn't add to it, but she doesn't actively avoid it when she's down there. Especially on days like today.
She's not working on July 4th.
(Emery Walsh comes back from her summer vacation to find out that Samira Mohan is at risk of burning out. She does what she can to help)

Summary
She loves everyone on board - dearly - but sometimes quiet is nice. Sometimes it's needed. During the day there's always three people screaming, minimum. Now with Chopper on board, even with them sailing to Alabasta and it being relatively easygoing, there's usually two people training on the deck, the sound of Zorro's weights, Usopp telling some form of 'story' and Luffy being….Luffy.
Right now though….there's nothing.
There's just Nami, leaning against the railing where just days ago, a scary mysterious raven haired woman in a small purple outfit had ambushed them and threatened their lives.
Nami suddenly knows how Sanji feels whenever they come across a pretty girl.

Her room is quiet.
It's so quiet.
Tifa's not even really sure where they are. She's been….she's been tired. Cid and Barrett and….and what's left of Cloud (whatever is happening with him) charted their flight path, and now they're somewhere up North. Somewhere cold where there's not a lot of people and it was easy to find rooms.
Tifa's room is so quiet.
Yuffie's….somewhere. She must have snuck out at some point to get some air, so Tifa's all alone in their shared room. Even though there's that big big part of her that knows she shouldn't be. Shouldn't be alone right now.
Tifa rarely even shares a room with Yuffie.

Summary
It doesn't hit Samira for a couple weeks, the fact that beers in the park after a long shift is probably a common thing.
She's an R3, and she's been at PTMC long enough that she should have known about it. Should have been to a couple. The fact that she's been to as many as a med student at the end of their first day is….it's a little sad, she thinks. The fact that she's not a social pariah - meaning it's her choice - makes it just that little big sadder.
It's rattling around in her brain the same way that McKay's comments about having a life outside of The Pitt are. As soon as she starts thinking about it, she can't stop. She's….she's happy with her life. She is. She's happy. Content. She shouldn't be thinking about how sad it may or may not be when she's content with her life and how things are going.

Sam’s scheming, and slow trudging forward, were interrupted by the stilling of the body in front of her, by a gloved hand whipping out to the side, floating ever so slightly back towards Sam, if she let herself imagine it.
“I thought I saw a snake.” The accented voice came clipped as the exposed fingers twitched, that specimen of a body strung taut, reflexes on the brink.
Sam sighed, relieved, reaching up to run a hand all over and through her hair, trying to air it out as much as possible in this sauna of a climate. The thing about this tour guide was that she just barely edged on the side of overprotective – extra cautious, doubling back on her own scouting if she sensed a lick of precarity along the path she forged for them. Although grating at times, it did elicit a comforting sense of safety – the firmest, almost arousing trust that she was in good hands. Metaphorically speaking, of course – well, as of now, that was. “Samira.” She keeps her voice calm and level, knowing it’ll just annoy Samira further. She muffles a laugh as Samira just curses and grumbles under her breath, something long and winding that sounds like it’s aimed at her. Catches the words rich surgeons and savior complex and thinks a pretty face means you can do whatever you want, a smile stretching across her face that she doesn’t bother hiding.
“You think I’m pretty?” Emery teases, turning so she’s in front of Samira and walking backwards as she grins at her. Her heart beats faster at the possibility, knowing Samira didn’t intend for her to hear her mumbled grumbling, letting herself have the tiniest pinch of hope for once.
