Summary
Prince Lance of Altea had always known that he wouldn't marry for love— in times of war, allies relied on political marriages. He allowed himself the reprieve of becoming a bit of a slut before the doomsday that would be his wedding day.
He had given himself rules when it came to hookups: enjoy his time, forget their name, and never see them again.
He's not sure why he hadn't forseen the consequences of letting the Blade member, Keithyr, break two of his rules. All he knows is that it will only end in hurting one or both of them.

Keith blinks. After a second, he moves to adjust his head on his pillow in order to properly look down where his love is tucked against him, fingers idly tracing over his collarbone— where another scar mars his pale skin.
“I have a lot of scars, Lance,” he replies. And it’s the truth; they both do, enough to lose count. “I don’t keep track of all of them.”
Lance hums. “I do. You got that one saving me.”

“I’m gonna marry you one day.”
Lance pauses, hands stiffening where he had been carefully bandaging Keith’s stab wound. He looks up to meet indigo eyes, hazy with pain and whatever poison the blade had been doused in.
Adoring, as they stare into him. Lance swallows.
“What makes you say that?” he asks, entertaining it. His fingers tremble a little on the cloth he’s using, and he wills them to go still.
“I dunno,” Keith slurs, and he manages a huff of laughter at that. “You look like the love of my life.”

As Lance’s watch ticks its way to four o’clock, a light streaks across the sky, and before Lance knows what he’s doing he ducks under Shiro’s arm and starts running. He flings open the back gate and slides down the sandy hills, barely managing not to trip on rocks and pits in the sand where children have dug little pools. He doesn’t bother to slow as the aircraft makes its fiery descent, confident the pilot will not hit him, and by the time he makes it across the beach his bare feet burn and he’s stepped on a sharp shell and lost his jacket somewhere near the house. But it doesn’t matter, because the craft lands and seconds later the door flings open and Keith comes sprinting out, still clad in armour, hair long and thick and braided back, and he runs at Lance at full speed and they collide at the top of a sand dune and Lance leaps into his arms and Keith loses his balance and they go tumbling down, laughing, Keith’s hand on his waist and Lance’s fingers clutching tightly at his shoulders.
“You made it!” Lance shouts, smile wider than he ever thought capable.

“I need a favour and if you’re annoying about it I’ll never tell your nosy ass anything about my life ever again,” Keith announces.
Shiro pauses for a second to consider how to play this.
He could play it cool. Act like he doesn’t care, like maybe he’ll help Keith if he can squeeze it into his schedule.
He glances down at his phone. He has zero new notifications. (Adam is doing his internship in the Amazon rainforest and has zero service, and Matt lost his phone for the eighth time this year, so. To be expected.) He is fooling no one.He sighs. “Tell me what you need, goober.”
Keith hesitates. His hands wring together nervously, and he won’t meet Shiro’s eyes. Shiro shifts slightly, sensing that the matter here is a little more serious than either of them are letting on, and pats the seat next to him.
“Talk to me,” he says quietly.
“Imaskinglancetogooutwithme,” Keith rushes out.

Summary
Keith spent two years on the space whale watching visions of his future play out before him. There were parts of the visions Keith desperately hoped he would live to have: a cozy house on the beach, a loving family, a daughter, and a boy with blue eyes. There were also things he viciously did not want to come true.
When Keith and Krolia escape the space whale and return to the Castle of Lions, he sees Lance for the first time in years. Lance’s eyes are the same shade of blue as the boy in the visions, and Keith doesn’t know how he hadn’t realized it sooner. Of course, it would be Lance. Of course, Keith would do anything to make a future with Lance a reality.

Lance just waves him off. “Man, I do miss Kaltenecker, ya know, these Earth cows just don’t measure up to her. Other than that, I’m fine. I mean-” He sweeps his arm out towards the fields with a gesture of overexaggerated pride. “I’m a landowner in my twenties! In this economy! I’m living it up down here.”

Apparently, it’s International Women’s Day, and that means flowers for all the women who matter to you. At least, that’s what Lance tells Keith, saying it's also a very important day for his Cuban family. Keith thinks that sounds simple enough. He’ll bring flowers to the women in his boyfriend's family and whoever else Keith knows in his own life.
It turns out Keith knows a lot more women than he realized.
Or Keith hands out fourteen bouquets, potentially-accidentally starts a Galra cultural reform, has Lance’s entire family in awe, and learns that one of the best ways to tell someone thank you and I love you is with flowers.

Summary
Years after Allura's death and Lance's return to the farm, he finally accepts Coran's offer of becoming an official Ambassador for Altea He and Shiro have gotten closer after Allura's death and he joins Shiro, and his sister Veronica on the Atlas as a non-combatant Coalition Delegate, where the three of them spend a lot of time together off-duty.
While he is on the Atlas, they get called in to intervene in a conflict on a Coalition planet with a lingering splinter cell of Zarkon loyalists. Non-combatant he may well be, but Lance cannot stand by and let people die when he could be helping! Dspite protests, he gears up and hops into a shuttle to provide cover fire. During the fighting he is seriously injured, needing intensive medical intervention.
While he recovers, he and Shiro grow even closer until they realize that what they have is so much more than friendship.
CW- this fic deals with Lance's recovery from extensive injuries and is told from his point of view. There is a lot of medical content, intense emotions, and depiction of processing trauma- some of which predates the incidents in the story.
