The subsequent panic of the pair and your own unintentional kidnapping by the mutants resulted in the creation of a family you never thought you would have.
You would do anything for your little-found family, and you quickly found out that the loyalty of the turtles knew no bounds either.

The greatest one of all, however, is the discovery that there is will for adventure yet, despite the imminent threat of death that comes with your circumstances. When Variks asks you to accompany him on a long expedition across Europa's valleys of snow and caverns of ice, you know you'll embark onto a journey to remember.
If you only weren't forgetting something, you might've handled it better.

Summary
The fear and awe of the Tangled Shore; it's the one thing everybody knows about the Spider. Knowing what there is to know about him, his infamous reputation and 'business' sense included, there is really no excuse you can come up with for yourself nor the the insufferable hots you've been having towards the Eliksni crime lord. The nerve of that bug, doing this to you! Then again, if you can't stop it - why would you? You end up trying to do something about it. It almost goes a bit too well.
On an entirely different note, Cayde turns out to be way chattier than you thought he'd be now that he's dead.

The greatest one of all, however, is your discovery that Variks has a sense of humour. When he further tasks you with a series of oddest of the odd-jobs, you know you're onto something special.
If you only weren't actively entertaining the idea of dying, you might have wielded better results.
