When they decide to break the news of their engagement to Ayaka and Thoma, they choose one of the more peaceful evenings, one that is not swamped with paperwork or getting Itto out of jail.
Ayato will never admit to it, but he does have what Itto likes to call a “mean streak” and a “prankster’s brain”, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone in the room that he waits explicitly for Thoma to drink his tea before he calmly says, “Itto and I are getting married, by the way.”
They were talking about the stock market only seconds ago.
Thoma both drops the cup and spits his tea across the table.Or: Ayato is an enabling menace, Itto is a clueless menace and Thoma is technically the bridezilla without being the one getting married in the first place. In his defense: It's his job. He deserves a raise.

The Administrator can’t help but laugh, his amusement echoing in the engine room’s walls. “You’re learning fast, Monsieur.”
With the return of Neuvillette's Hydro Dragon authority comes the ability to control the Pneumousia properties found only in Fontaine's environment and life-forms. He soon comes across an opportunity to test how far his command of both energy and element can go, when he makes a visit to the Wingalet built by a certain Duke of Meropide.

To be fair, while he could have introduced himself as Kamisato Ayato, he would rather keep the Kamisato name as far away from this situation as possible. He’d rather not fend off any questions pertaining to his surname, knowing how easily he would be recognised as one of the biggest donors to this university.
“My name is Zhongli.” He introduced himself. “The pleasure is fully mine, Thoma. Please, take a seat.”

Kaveh comes back from a trip into the desert for inspiration and finds out that Alhaitham's daughter will be staying with them for an undetermined amount of time.
He's perfectly normal about this.

Kaveh’s brain finally catches up to his mouth and, oh god, Kaveh’s going to what?
Okay. This isn’t ideal, but he can do this. This can be his way of repaying Alhaitham for letting Kaveh stay with him. This can be a totally normal thing, easy peasy, no weird obsession with Alhaitham’s love life, he’s just being a good housemate. He helps Alhaitham get together with Zhongli, Alhaitham becomes indebted to him and tada! He won’t make Kaveh do all his chores and better yet, Kaveh will be invited to the wedding!
(The wedding? Kaveh feels like he's going to be sick.)
Or: Kaveh’s convinced that Alhaitham’s in love with his perfect, well-mannered and well-dressed penpal, Zhongli, who’s staying with them in Sumeru for a few days. There’s no possible way that this could go wrong.
