It's Pete.
He's humming a tune as he stalks around the room looking for them. “I know you're here Stephie,” his voice is all wrong and drone-like. He knocks over a box to the girls’ right, “Just come on out!”
The girls don't move but cling to each other's hands like their lives depend on it. Steph thinks about giving herself up, Pete wants her after all, Grace might have a chance at escaping if he's distracted. But it's like Grace senses her train of thought and tugs on her hand and shakes her head. Steph can't say no.
Pete continues humming and soon starts full blown singing, “I know I stand in line until you think you have the time to spend an evening with me.” -
