“L !” Soichiro whipped around, staring straight into the rearview mirror. “L, what the hell just happened ? What have you done to my son ?”
In a hotel room on the other side of town, L stared through a TV screen at the horror before him. Misa and Soichiro splattered with blood. Light unconscious, bleeding profusely. This wasn’t supposed to happen. “I–I don’t know.”
After L's plan to clear Light's name goes wrong, Light is left permanently disabled, his family picking up the pieces. Everyone wants things to go back to normal, but how can they ? The genius that was Yagami Light is no longer the same person as before.

"Light grabbed Ryuzaki’s shoulder, spun him around and shoved him against the wall. He kissed him, hungry for the detective, pressing their bodies together. He wanted him. He wanted him more than anything. He wanted him more than he wanted to catch Kira. Light opened his mouth, licking Ryuzaki’s lips in the hopes that he’d reciprocate, when Ryuzaki violently pushed him away."
