“L !” Soichiro whipped around, staring straight into the rearview mirror. “L, what the hell just happened ? What have you done to my son ?”
In a hotel room on the other side of town, L stared through a TV screen at the horror before him. Misa and Soichiro splattered with blood. Light unconscious, bleeding profusely. This wasn’t supposed to happen. “I–I don’t know.”
After L's plan to clear Light's name goes wrong, Light is left permanently disabled, his family picking up the pieces. Everyone wants things to go back to normal, but how can they ? The genius that was Yagami Light is no longer the same person as before.

Enviable as his various, deific attributes were—supreme intelligence, incredible beauty—unfortunately for him, he was stuck to the confines of a very human body, with very human wrists. Therefore handcuffs, were one hurdle where his wriggling abilities faltered.
A hurdle that would be met with more protest, if it were anyone but L, withholding the key. -
