Summary
Sometimes she curled up by Louis’ side, in his coffin, trying to feel something. Triumph that she had violated his personal space the same way they had done to her. Bitterness that no matter how hard she tried he could not see her. Acceptance that he hadn’t when she was alive either. Nothing rose up in her.

Summary
One moment, Richard was standing in his home; the next, the floorboards under his feet melted and he was plunged into murky darkness, his limbs trapped in liquid cement, slow and weak as he struggled to reorient himself.
Then, an invisible string wound itself around the bones of his ribcage, threading through the gaps, securing its grip on his chest, and pulled. He could almost see the thread, thin and glinting silver, as he was dragged into oblivion, the muffled roaring of wind ringing in his ears.
Richard’s eyes cracked open to the familiar sight of a giant owl sculpture. It loomed over him, water trickling from its downturned beak and down into the basin by its feet.

So, you see, Dick Grayson doesn’t die. He can’t even keep his trap shut, let alone lie still in a place that has far from enough room for the sheer energy he’s always brimming with.

Sometimes, when she’s not about to throw up or die of embarrassment, she can’t help but stare. Gotham skies were always choked with light pollution and clouds, but out here she can see everything. It’s at once terrifying and beautiful, and she kind of hates that it makes her feel so small.

His death wouldn't mean anything, really, except maybe it’d make a dent in the cosmic balance sheet. Even that is probably too much to ask for.

Summary
He's sitting on the edge of his shitty couch, staring at the buckles of his boots that have been halfway undone. He should be shedding himself of scuffed leather and damp socks, but he—can't. His fingers won't cooperate, sitting listlessly in his lap. For a second, Jason has to pay attention to the rise and fall of his chest, just to make sure it's still working the way it's supposed to.

Summary
“Come again?” Hal asks incredulously. Subtly, he pinches the skin of his elbow to make sure he's not dreaming, but it doesn't dissolve the image of Batman in front of him. If anything, his frown only gets deeper.
“I need a babysitter,” he repeats.
